Ahh...yeah, from reading this thread it seems that is a pretty common opinion. Reading a lot about certain batches of certain beers being better than others. I think it's pretty fair to say that consistency is common issue among many craft brewers, even the highly regarded ones. Glad you aren't noticing similar issues at D96. Will be seeking them out (along with other NY brewed beers) when things are closer to normal.

Well this thread 80% from about dozen of local fans... We probably drink too much OH to give the normies a honest opinion.

Since I know there are L&B fans here, can we eat pizza on the picnic tables? OH cans and squares is my favorite part of summer.

While we’re at it, are they still doing a 6 slice minimum on the squares? Was there a few weeks ago.

Personally, Other Half is about 85% of the beer I drink, though with Finback slinging in Gowanus there's a good chance that'll drop a tad (at this point I still think OH has the edge on IPA's).

Also just want to note that we're just past the halfway mark this year and only at 84 pages, suggesting a year end total near 160, well below last year's page count.

To help move the discussion along, has anyone local been to the Rochester taproom? I just booked a trip to the Finger Lakes region in July and am looking for opportunities to bring Bloomfield within "striking distance" of a family day trip which might permit me to slide through. I know I'm being completely and unnecessarily sentimental here, but I'd love to to pay a visit and (hopefully if they're open for in house consumption) have a pour.

We were robbed a bunch pages with white claw v 6th anniversary gunplay event... That plus the pandemic, I still think OH leads the way on pages on BA.

Well, if the observation is that some OH beers are better than others, or that some OH IPAs fluctuate in quality (typically between good and great) based on the profile of the hops, I thought we arrived at that conclusion 2-3 years ago. I've used this board in the past to figure out which cans I want to get and avoid the ones I don't. With delivery options what they are, that isn't really feasible.

Also I hope people have been buying to preference over the same 2-3 year span, that is, not buying Forever Simcoe if one knows they dislike Simcoe. That's a bit harder to do now when delivery is less frequent and compounded by case minimum.

It's been easier for me to buy Finback and Grimm, so I'm drinking a bit more of their stuff, but that recent DDH Citra+Strata was insanely good. Recent tops for Finback/Grimm are Afterimage, Butterfly Door, Whale Watching, and Brainalyzer, all in no particular order. They're all really, really good, but I'm reminded very few can put out a beer as tasty and smooth right on day 1 as OH with Citra+Strata.

I say it again if you like the melon note, this batch of FS is just as good as C+S, enjoyed them equally.

Perhaps we need some help from @dhaakon to do the maths...but usually June 30th marks the end of the first half of the year. So to be on pace for 190 pages again we need to target 95 pages by June 30th.

12-27 months is a pretty big difference for barrel aging

Considering that pastrytown was arguably one of the biggest factors to coronavirus spreading throughout NYC, maybe it’s a good thing.

I'm sure it didn't help, but I feel like that's overstating the case quite a bit. If anything I'm sure a good % of people there didn't live in the city.

    You're mistaking coronavirus with diabetes.

My first reaction to the post was, "not through NYC, but out to the rest of the northeast"
