When one of the hard cores says this, I immediately do the “haven’t drunk the kool aid” translation, and know that it means, for me, “if you spend $20ish for 4 cans of this, you sure as hell are going to be disappointed.“

Now that my biases are exposed, is anything in the current IPA, non-tosed, line up actually stellar? No point in pointing me to anything fruited or pastried, as that will fall on deaf ears.

    TIA. Your curmudgeon at large.

Well I went in on a case for delivery tomorrow. I wish they'd drop it to 16 cans!

Think I’m in the bicycle zone, so at least I wouldn’t have to go all in on a case (if I’m understanding all of the current prototcols correctly).

Hmmm- I'm not sure I quite agree. Or at least that's not what I meant.

If you haven't had C&G before my guess is you'll enjoy / really enjoy it. If you have had it before, it may not be quite as good as you remember. No more, no less. No lines to read between. I mean rightly or wrongly - even taking Galaxy issues out of the equation - I think most people would agree that OH has been a little bit of a notch down of late (except C+S of course). And this batch of C+G seemed to continue that theme.

@jrnyc , log back on to your account!

I wasn't blown away by the Green City beers after feeling that fomo, but they were smooth and tasty.

I haven't poured out an OH beer in a long time, though I've still got those two Hop Monsoons staring me down...

I also think a “not top batch” of Citra/Galaxy (and several others such as Space Diamonds and ACE) is something we say as long time OH drinkers and/or with easy access to it. These batches are still way better than a high percentage of beers out there.

Your wish is my command !

My Untappd check-ins for C+G go back to October 1st last year and they were great, but I feel like I had it subsequent to that and it was not so great, but I have no record of that. Given in the long gone days of September 2019 of how much I loved ACE and Mylar and how in my eyes the mighty have fallen since then, I am definitely curious how I would judge C+G now. Lo and behold one of my local stores is getting it, so may amble over there and give a 4 pack a try.

C+S was awesome, not sure given the 35 cans they have available all the time, why it has not come back, hopefully soon.

Space Diamonds while not peak, still is worth trying.

Pains me to say it but I am done with Mylar and until proven otherwise done with ACE.

And one of those Broccoli beers was really good.

    I have spoken!

If the store is getting Mylar as well you should roll the dice. I was pleasantly surprised by this batch, though maybe my palate - which once (figuratively) wore skinny black Brooklyn jeans and now wears shapeless blue suburban jeans - is a little more forgiving these days.

Shout out to the OH worker yesterday who went above and beyond when I was having a hard time deciding whether I should get trip broc or dmd and she took it upon herself to go get me a mixed 4 pack. Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear OH branded gaiters.

Can we just make this a thing already?! Just do it for walk up only. When there's 30+ options being able to mix, even if you require 2 of each beer minimum, would be outstanding! Obviously there are challenges in doing it for online order or delivery but if I could walk up and mix I'd likely buy more than I have the recent times I got beer from OH.

I would have kept that to myself. Now a horde of OH hat wearing bros are going to be asking for mixed 4 packs because afroskully from BeerAdvocate said they did it for him.

So far I've really enjoyed Green City All Stars (after having a properly chilled one), but I was expecting an over the top hoppy beer and it delivered. The other 3 cans that I've had so far just feel like standard stuff from OH which is still good imo.

No doubt. Instead it's me texting friends on the way to OH, hoping they'll want to go in with me on mix and match. Which is cool, because friendship.

I'm skeptical of perceived major quality shifts over time in OH's beers. That skepticism is firmly rooted in the consistent experience over a couple years now of leaving the area for a week or so and drinking what's readily available around the country. Even when I got some fresh Parish or Holy Mountain, I felt their goods were still catching up with OH.

Haven't had ACE in a while but I've enjoyed three of my four Mylar cans and am looking forward to DMD, which will be quite interesting as I'm also finishing up a 4pk of Double Something Mosaic which I enjoyed but found to be a touch too sweet.

9/9/20 - the day OH instituted "Operation We Love Locals" where they would start giving DL mixed packs to regulars after years of support

9/10/20 - the day @afroskully dropped a nuke on it
