Any easy way to differentiate the beers brewed at different locations? For example if I’m only seeking OG location Brooklyn brewed beers. I guess one would have to consult the instagrams and borrow it down from there. Could go for a Brooklyn brewed ACE right now.

Superfun and doug in the same week, man that be a throwback. OG superfun was like a maltier version of boat beer, would probably taste even more malty by today's standards, it wasn't very good but at the time was exciting that other half was starting to can stuff. They sold cans at bierkraft and then didnt distro any cans outside of the brewery for like 1 or 2 years after that.

Someone mentioned the shape of OH logos on the labels - circle, triangle, pentagon?

Yea the shapes around the OH logo corresponds to the production location, but if you’re looking at the menu and trying to figure it out there’s not really any way that I can think of.

As if that's not hard enough, good luck with the Forever Simcoe (DC) and Forever Simcoe (BK). The breweries have patterns though, all Chroma are FLX and the single IPA version of "forever" are DC AFAIK.

I think the can tabs as well. FLX uses blue tabs, and I haven't had a DC beer in a while but I think they use green on some of them. BK used some black tabs a few times but they mostly use regular tabs.

If everyone knows that ~2 month old IPAs are still as good (if not often better) than they were at inception—so long as the cold chain was maintained—the entire craft beer hazeboi edifice may well come crumbling down.:worried:

When that happens, we'll all feel free to move out to some palatial estate in the suburbs and drink whatever's sitting on the shelf at Wegman's or DeCicco's. Which'll either be the beginning of our end or the end of our beginning...

Also every can has a made in blah blah (my previous ACE cans had DCs address, my new February ones, Gowanus). So if you're looking at them up close anyway its simple enough. Less so if you're eyeballing them behind a bar etc.

The batches of Superfun! and DDH Superfun! that were released earlier in the pandemic turned into, basically, lemonade after a couple of weeks. So, so good.

Nelson + Simcoe tastes very classic OH. The body is murky but not as thicc as recent beers and the nose is pungent. I didn't know what to expect going in to this one but it's fantastic. These feel like vintage Other Half burps too.

Was def intrigued when I saw this pop up on IG. Going to be in BK on Sunday and was hoping for a review before I ordered some beer!

I might be wrong as all hell but I think people here are really going to like this. I say that as someone that's not a big Nelson fan (but love the heck out of Simcoe so maybe it averages out). With old OH it didn't matter what hop it was, it was going to be intense in a way that was exciting. This harks back to that.

    Well shit, indeed.

If they're going to brew us an ESB of all things upon request, we might as well as ask them for the one beer everyone wants — a COVID Vaccine Crunchee.

While I've only ever had Pliny the Elder on draught, this Mylar was quite tasty. I appreciate the motivation to buy.

Same here...made a trip into BKN today and Mylar was a last minute addition following that post. I picked up the ESB along with a handful of other IPAs. No idea what I am getting myself into with it.

How’s the ESB? Anyone grab the stouts from today? Looked like they were (very lightly) waxed - not sure if I imagined it, but if so would this be the first time?

just had my last can of 4th is dead, really enjoyed it. Solid tropical notes, some creamy sweetness, for 10% I wasn’t getting any abv heat

I haven't tried the ESB yet. Along with the ESB and Mylar Bags, I also picked up All Galaxy, All Strata, HDHC Citra Day Dream and Roc Showers. Did not enjoy All Galaxy, the rotten melon flavor was strong in this one. All Strata was decent but was expecting more. Roc Showers was the best of the three I've had so far. Will report back on the ESB once I sample it.
