Could have really gone for some Short Dark and Wired or SDH w/ Coconut, but I will take what I can get!

Gonna grab the SD+PB as I really enjoyed it last time I had it. Really wish we'd see some of the wired come back, how long has it been anyway since that was canned? Are the brewers on some kind of coffee strike, or just buried under a pile of coconuts and cinnamon?

Anybody try the new Strata combos that can provide some tasting notes? Will def pick up one of those too and report back.

Frank! glad to hear you're feeling ok.

I picked up the SDH w/ Mexican hot chocolate and the strata/mosaic to save for an end of month trip upstate as I'm trying to do 'beerless January' as opposed to dry January...but that smiling marshmallow on the sdh can keeps mocking me every time I open the fridge and I believe I'm not gonna last.

@SeanEDPBK the Citra/Strata was really good and as of yesterday they still had it (they must've made a lot of it..did not expect that to last this long). Its got a great dank berry flavor to it with nary a trace of melon.

OHDC CRAK TIPA is excellent. I actually prefer it over the D96 collab (picked up two 4-packs of each from Domino Park yesterday). Only three days in the can so it's still a bit green, but you can tell there's a 10/10 beer lurking in there. Handpicked Citra, Strata, and Nelson--absolute fire.

Just had ba snowbirds 3 and I couldn't stomach it. It was a mess and overall my least favorite of the 2020 releases

Get puke buckets ready. Lorenzo post appears fairly imminent according to IG.

As we approach anniversary announcements/speaking of puke, I’d like to take a moment and remember the pour soul that vomited all over himself in (not on) line around noon and was subsequently shoved in an uber

Don't wait or hold back, Strata+Mosaic is indeed top notch as @Justonemore91 notes above. I'd put it up there with batch 1 of Citra+Strata. Also, I'm starting to think that Strata is kind of like Amarillo- I love it with other hops more than on its own (based on the Dank Lots #2 I've been drinking).

came here today to say the same. Strata/Mosaic is one hell of a beer. Best I’ve had from OH in a while.

Some observations on some OH cans I recently picked up. Note - have not had any OH beer since June, but used to frequent since the early days waiting in line for the original ACE release. I’d put myself in the category of always really enjoying their classics like Space Diamonds, Double Mosaic, Stacks, etc.

I’ve seen a few mentions of recently quality being questionable, and I have to say I really don’t know what has happened with their hoppy beer.

Are they using a completely different yeast with less hops? I actually don’t mind the melon thing, but I’m finding their recent beer just all taste the same regardless of the hops. The beer has that bandaid aroma, and tastes like orange/melon juice with very little ‘beer’ taste or bite to the finish. I couldn’t even finish the small mosaic, it didn’t have any of the usual mosaic notes just tasted gross.

Note - this is based on trying Mylar, HDHC small mosaic, citra hop showers, triple citra daydream, and Enjoy the juice. So a pretty good cross section of usual OH classics plus some newer stuff.

    Is this the norm now?

For the SD&H fans this recent PB batch is a nice antidote to the unending parade of pastry stouts. Nutty up front, shameless roasty and bitter finish that lingers.

any word on Ideal Wave or Forever HBC 586? Looking to grab a lighter 4pk to round out my Strat+Mo order (may just go with SDH PB to play it safe, really enjoyed the mexican hot chocolate one).

Kind of. It isn't a different yeast, just a specifically dialed in use of that yeast. The beer is the smoothest it's ever been right out of the gate and we're seeing less lactose than ever? If you want to mix it up a bit, get some OH Roc, OH BK, and OH DC beers to sample the different yeasts; I've only noticed melon in OH BK. If only there was an easier way to keep up with what was brewed where.

I think yeast has long been an underrated aspect of hazy ipa, particularly given all the noise around "biotransformation." If Tree House is/was the standard for hazy ipa, their beers have all "tasted like Tree House" for a long time.

Sheesh, you should go through all the work of pushing "new thread" next January!

I've not had this one but I have really enjoyed the "forever" series beers (citra, strata, and galaxy are the ones I've had) that have come out of DC. They've been fuller and softer than Other Half's previous sub 8% stuff.
