Other Half (2021)

Just had one and totally agree. I wish this one made it down to nyc more than sip of sunshine does which you can get everywhere now.

 

Only had a few sips of Cheddar FU ( i capitalize both letters ) and a single can of Moteuka + Galaxy but yeah, was definitely taken back to the days of eye-opening Other Half beers. Both are fantastic IMO.

 

Glad to here the boys are back. Hoping some of these are around when I make it into BK next weekend! If anyone grabs the DDH Forever Simcoe this week, please report back!

 

Estimates were December. Which, well, they don't have much time left to meet that. If I'm in the neighborhood I'll take a look to see what it looks like.

 

I’m on Long Island and I’ve had fresh SF in September and just recently so hopefully this becomes a more regular thing. Their single IPA is pretty damned good too.

 

Anybody know if Rock has cans to go today?

 

They do. I just grabbed some cans including the last 3 Cheddar Fu from them on my way home.

 

Damn I wouldve loved more Cheddar Fu, but I guess if there was just 3 left it wasn't meant to be.

Any recollection what else was there?

 

I grabbed a 4 of Tomato Factory and mo+ga. I also noticed they also had ACE and the red chroma. I didn't spend too much time reading the list as I had a train to catch, and basically zeroed in on mo+ga based off of the good reviews here.

 

No Snowbirds 6? Will the ongoing collab be ending?!

I was lucky enough last to to snag all the bottles including the 2-year BA. Honestly, the Non-BA Banana Nilla wafer was my favorite.

 

Wasn't Snowbirds 5 last year? They usually do fresh bottles alongside the BA bottles.

 

Oh yeah, you're right I just looked it up. I thought last year was 4.

 

Small complaint, is anyone else having a hard time determining what is brewed where in terms even of dual hops? Citra galaxy came into jersey and given the announcement on ohnyc weekly drops I assumed it's from there. Nope DC, walked away. I've been burned by subpar DC OH classics a few times and won't pay 21.99 a four pack for it, but now on a rare trip to BK I'm a little annoyed I have to consider it too (rant over).

 

Brew dates are also an issue. But that's easier to figure out with Instagram

 

Hoping tomorrow's Snowbirds release won't be too bad at 1 bottle per person. That 3 year sounds too good to miss out on.

 

I had a similar experience in the summer last time they released citra + galaxy. Got a 4-pk from Brooklyn that was amazing (brewed in BK) and went back later that week to pick up another 4-pk and didn’t realize till I got home that it was brewed in DC. While they had the same label it was two completely different beers!

Where was the 1 bottle limit posted, I didn’t see it in the announcement?

 

It's been a minute since I've had OH and this Mo + Ga is fantastic. Just dank weed with a big stonefruit finish. What's the code for where this is brewed? The tab color or the shape behind other OH logo?

 

On OHBK's Instagram story. They said 1 bottle for each variant this morning. Now it's 1 bottle for the 3 year and 2 bottles for the other variants.

I have to say usually OH's best beers are their core DIPAs but some of these collabs have been really on point as well. Space Lab, Cheddar-Fu and Krocodile Broc are all really good, especially the first too. Also picked up Mo + Ga and its fantastic, OH has been firing on all cylinders lately.
