I'm trying to figure out how the Street Green release on a Saturday in two weeks won't be a total mess, but I'm coming up short. I'd expect a very long line and some frustrated OH fans, but I'm hoping for the best.

Yea, I mean really the only way to please everyone is gonna be to lower the limits on Street Green I think, given that it's the same size as a normal canning. Maybe two 4-packs per? Otherwise I feel like people are definitely gonna miss out.

They could also put it in 12oz cans. Seemed to work really well for Doug, though i'm not sure that's the reason it has lasted so long...

The main reason doug was in 12 oz was because there was a shortage of 16 oz cans.

Too many brewers canning atm!!

Would love for them to open prior to the tasting room just for can sales - like TH does on Wednesdays. I think that could at least potentially help with moving things along and probably free up the 2nd iPad so that they can take that into the brewery to focus solely on can sales.

Yea, I really can't believe Doug lasted that long. Did they make more of it than normal batches? Because 12oz cans alone doesn't seem to account for it. I was planning on going to OH later on Saturday to get cans based on how long Doug lasted, but saw on Twitter that they were basically out of Equinox by 2pm and nixed the plan. Oh well, I'll just have to get there really early for the Trillium collab.

Personally I think it has more to do with it not being a traditional IPA or stout so people don't go as crazy for it.

Every OH release has been well run, but this one is likely to bring out unprecedented demand. Hopefully this one is without problems. But if there are hordes of people lined up, sooner or later this will get someone's attention.

I am sure this beer will be good, but just because two great breweries are brewing it, doesn't mean it will be any better than any other beer OH makes or Trillium makes. But "collab" , "release day", attracts beer geeks like bees to honey. I admire the fervor beer geeks have for beer and what we do, but it is really over the top sometimes.

Nah same size batches as any other canning, just there were sooo many more cans due to the 12 oz size. Believe me, I had to carry all those cases!

And as @NJNYC732 stated - I don't think the black IPA is as popular as their other beers.

    I love it though.

Personally, I would have loved to try Doug. I went to Milk & Hops and Beer Culture because I heard whispers they might have some "leftovers" because it didn't sell well at the brewery but I struck out both times.

I know I'm in the minority, I love a good black IPA. Just don't have the time to go to Brooklyn on a Saturday at this point in my life. I wish these breweries were around when I was in my 20s. Even, lower 30s.

I was THRILLED to see Doug cans available on Saturday since I missed the initial release two weeks ago. The dark ale/black IPA types just don't have the same following or the hype as the single-hop IPAs or BA stouts do.

I believe it's on tap atm. Grab a growler during the week!

So the consensus seems to be that El Dorado is somewhere in the middle of the single-hop pack.... better than galaxy, equinox, but falling short of mosaic, citra, nelson.

Figure I can skip the cans then... Will this be found on draft outside the tap room? Not seeing it anywhere on beermenus.

Thanks for the tips guys. Unfortunately, if it's not between Times Square and TriBeCa, it's out of realistic reach for me. I'm a real homebody now, haha, I barely see my kids as it is during the week, I don't want to take more time out of my weekends. If I didn't work in Manhattan. I'd probably never get there anymore. I used to go to Brooklyn Brewery quite often, but that was 10 years ago.

Edit: just checked Milk&Hops BM page and they have Hop Showers on growler fill. Maybe I sneak my little 32oz guy down there and get some.

They had Doug cans behind the counter at Good Beer last week and they seemed to be mostly overlooked by the CBS/KBS crowd that was hanging around there. Might be worth a phone call, if you're going to M&H anyway. Only a few blocks further east.

I do get to Good Beer maybe once or twice a month, time allotted, and, of course, I was there last Monday and, from what I heard, Doug didn't get there until Tuesday. Thanks for the tip though. I might try to go back tomorrow.
