well that's easy, the one wearing Amarillo panties
Umm, so yeah did not go so well. I gave it the benefit of the doubt as I recall the first bottle being decent. It was a hot mess sad to say. A few good flavors are there, toasty malts and some hop bitterness, but they don't play well with the very prominent bite of the RW barrel. Made it about 3 ounces before I had to send it to a better place.
A fresh Doug would have been nice to cleanse the palate...
never going to make it there by ten, wish i knew how long they would be available so i dont waste my time driving there at 12 or so
It will be available at 12.
I don't think you have anything to worry about if you get there by 12 either. The last time I got there around that time and there was still plenty of everything. My wait was 30-40 minutes, fwiw.
I highly doubt GD will sell out. Granted Doug is in 12 oz can, so there is a lot more to go around.
Can someone post today's board?
Jarrylo, Hopped in Full, Short, Dark and Handsome, Doug, AGE, IPA, GD, Citra, ESB, Cascade and Forever Ever
Just rolled in at noon. No wait at the can line or tasting room. Life is good.
Zero line! Beautiful!
Save some Doug for me, you animals! I'm passing through tomorrow at opening...wedding things getting in the way for today.
What's the can situation look like?I might be able to make it there by 5.
Love it when new people come here looking for info and then head straight to the trading forum to flip their cans.
I bought a case of green diamonds, and a few growlers. Pumped to go and will return for other releases
But I would def take a couple of cans and try for a couple treehouse. Which I have wanted to try for some time now
A beer release with no complaints! Hurrah!
I think the Kane Head High can release may have kept a few NJ/PA dudes from heading up today. I haven't seen OH tweet at all about cans running low so I would assume they have plenty left for tomorrow too.
This was such a great release. No lines no worry about anything. Grabbed a couple beers and then casually walked back to get cans. How their releases should be.
Could be demand slowing a bit, there have been a lot of releases and GD has been released a lot. But would be good that people can walk in and just get the stuff without lining up. Were people lined up before open?
beer geeks being beer geeks. Or maybe they are line geeks being line geeks. Human beings seem to like wait in line, people sleeping in tents overnight in Suffolk County to get free Chick-fil-a.
Don't care what it is. If I'm able to ride my bike over and pick up 16+ extremely tasty and fresh beers with no line/wait I'm a happy camper.
There was a line when I got there around 10 (terrible time i know...had no choice)....wait was a bit less than an hour
Long Island =/= human beings
And I think those are the same people at the head of the OH lines
Two of my favorite breweries, two very contrasting styles. Anxious to see what they collaborate on. My guess is a Saison.
an over-hopped saison I'd guess.
I dont know, seems to be A LOT of people from Jersey heading to OH waiting in line for cans, even occasisonally people who hate Equinox hops !
I thought it was well known that everybody hates equinox hops!
Picked up a 32oz growler of Hopped In Full on my way to reaching the $10 minimum for cards for a pour of Short Dark and Handsome and have no regrets! When are we going to get some lowly pale ales canned?
Call me crazy, but I'm getting more orange/tangerine notes in this batch of GD.
Any chance diamonds will be there Tuesday
Regarding the JWB/OH potential collab beer....why isn't anyone thinking the obvious? Like a double dry hopped gose with some delicious citrus fruit?
Depends after sales today, but the tap room is open on Wednesday, not Tuesday.
But there have been a couple releases when the cans reached the Wednesday after.
To the cat....cheers
Are both still available today? OH has been surprisingly silent on twitter this weekend.
Not sure. They def would have tweeted if they sold out.
Green Diamonds - 40 cases
Doug - Alot
Anyone have a hunch how long 40 cases of GD will last?
Really hard to say, but I think it is possible they are still around Thursday night. But who knows.
I also think in the future if these cans don't sell out at brewery in first day or two, they will widen the distribution and then some of the cans will be gone from brewery if they do this. But this is mere wild speculation on my part.
Has anyone had this batch? Last batch was stupendous. Wondering how these are now.
