    Other Half Brewery -http://www.otherhalfbrewing.com/,https://instagram.com/otherhalftaproom/

Address: 195 Centre St Brooklyn, NY 11231

Tap Room Hours: Tuesday through Friday: 5 pm to 10 pm, Saturday: 10 am to 10 pm, Sunday: 12 pm to 8 pm

Closest Subway Station: Smith-9th St (F and G Train)

Directions From Subway: Walk West on W.9th Street to the intersection, Make a Left on Smith St, walk two blocks and make a right on Centre St, Tap Room is halfway down the block across from the McDonalds. (Approx. 2 min walk)

Parking: The best bet for parking is usually on the other side of the Court Street, the other side of the expressway. Please don't park at McDonalds as they're known to tow.

A Citi Bike station was recently installed at Smith/9th, woo!

Current Tap List: Checking Untappd is the best way to find out what is currently available. Pours are available in 4oz/8oz/12oz/16oz depending on the beer. Tasting flights are not available. https://otherhalfbrewing.com/beers?fwp_beer_on_tap=1&fwp_paged=2 is also helpful.

Growler Fills: Other Half uses a Counter Pressure fill system. This requires that all 32oz and 64oz growlers have a 1.125” standard threaded opening.
Other Half branded growlers require a $5 deposit. Growlers from other breweries are welcome, but must follow those measurement guidelines. Not all beers are available for growler fills, please check the tap room menu board for details.

Can and Bottles Sales: Cans and Bottles are for sale in the tap room when they are available. Releases are announced via Other Half’s Instagram/Twitter/Facebook. Can releases occur every weekend and sometimes during the week. Check Instagram for updates. Cans and Bottles cannot be consumed on the premises.

Other Half Gear: OH branded growlers, hats, glasses, and t-shirts are available in the tap room.

Credit Cards: $10 Minimum, no AMEX

    Outside Beer:
Do not open bottles or cans in the Tap Room unless you have permission from the Other Half crew. Do not drink while waiting outside on line for releases. The sidewalk is NYC property and you can get a open container ticket.

Kids and Dogs: Yes both are permitted. In the case of dogs, be aware there are brewery cats that hang around.

Local Eats: McDonalds, Pizza Moto, Buttermilk Channel, Prime Meats, Frankie’s Spuntino,Court Street Grocer, plus many other places along Court St. Outside food is allowed in the Tap Room, just be aware there is not much room to eat.

Local Bars within a ~20min walk:MiniBar, The Owl Farm, Mission Dolores, Threes Brewing, Bar Great Harry, 4th Ave Pub,Pacific Standard, Supercollider, Park Slope Ale House,Lavender Lake.

Local Bottle Shops:First Place Provisions, Whole Foods Brooklyn

First time info: If you're coming one Saturday for your first time you should arrive by 830/9 to be guaranteed a full allotment. Sometimes beer lasts longer and through the following week, but often something sells out quickly. Instagram is the best source for updates. Whenever a beer sells out, they put it on for fills.

    Weekly Conversation Following Can Release:
BA1: OH should lower limits to make their beer more accessible
BA2: I need to get cases for my crew.
BA3: It's available all over town on draft and you can fill growlers (so long as they follow the above mentioned specifications).
BA4: I hate growlers. I only drink beer from 16oz cans.
BA1: I don't want to stand in line or can't get there. Also resellers and razzles suck.
BA2: LOL WORK FOR IT, check out my sweet haulz pic
    Rinse and repeat.

@Kanger mentioned this in the previous thread, can anyone corroborate - are there stout bottles (nuts) hanging around at this point? Are those 12.7 oz? And anyone know if there's still glassware available? TIA.

How busy does Other Half get on Saturdays from 12-4? Not interested in cans, just tasting/drinking.

Saturdays are generally busier all day. Most of the can crowd should be gone by 12 but it will still be a decent crowd. OH tap room is very small so it always feels crowded.

OH bottles are usually 500 ml/16.9 oz. There's usually always branded glassware available, just none of the special stuff.

Typically quite busy but sometimes easy going.

The new (much bigger) taproom is nearly complete, so hopefully the crowd situation will be better in the next few weeks.

Can we all just accept that these OH threads are just as ridiculous as the OH lines?

i'm backkk... waited in line for this past release. I love the new flea market that also now takes place on line.

Must say I'm a little underwhelmed with the brews. Feel like they are lacking that OH bite. Tremendous Ideas is a little too lactose forward for me, I liked the balance of Imaginary Greenscapes. This one is similar to daydream in green. I just don't like Lactose heavy beers when they don't have a super aggressive hop bite. I'm finding Bud's Life cans to be a little inconsistent. Some have a strong hop presence and others are underwhelming and bland. I think Enigma is the favorite of this release for me. A strong showcase of that hop. DDH Cheddar is fine but it'll be better in two weeks. Should have waited til this saturday to pick up wedding brews. line up looks great.

Anybody care to take a stab at the flavor profile of Enigma? A similar hop perhaps? Swinging by tonight to get a growler of Tremendous Ideas and might get a taster of Enigma if you guys convince me to.

So does anyone know what the deal with "OH..." is? Is it a replacement for the original OH IPA? All I know is that Citra, Galaxy, and Motueka seem to be Other Half's go-to hops and the 6.2% ABV has me excited.

This is from a brewing website and the trademark holder of Enigma has the same flavor profile listed. Have tried OH Enigma yet so maybe someone could describe if this is what they pick up too.
    • Aromas and flavours: tart berry fruits such as raspberry or red current, melon, citrus, Pinot Gris, a bit of tropical fruits
    • Substitutions: Not a lot, but Galaxy might do
    • Common beer styles: Many
    • Uses: Flavour, aroma

Welp...maybe that beer is making its way to kegs but it won't be making its way to cans this Saturday. Just got replaced by DDH Mylar Bags.

If I wasn't an "out of towner" I would be handling this release as depicted above. I've come to realize that the only way of ensuring that I get home before noon/don't sit in two hours of traffic is to get there early and get out before 11:00.

Eh, unfortunately, not sure if that's the case. Thinking Mylar brings the line and sells out super fast again.

Last time they had DDH Mylar bags was July 1st and a non-collab, they sold out of that within 90 minutes. The rest of the release was Green Diamonds (sold out quickly after), and Forever Ever, and Simcoe.
