I know the main topic here at the moment is this saturdays release, but I have a question (probably has been asked a million times)

Since OH does counter pressure growler fills, how long would you say the growlers are good for after filling? I can't decide whether to buy a 32oz or 64oz. 32oz I could kill in a session but not a 64oz, so I'd have to re-cap a 64oz maybe half way. But price wise I think 64oz would make more sense per beer (if that makes sense).

I know I sound like a total newb but I've never been one for growlers, but seriously considering it.

    Thanks in advance guys!

Counter pressure or no counter pressure - once it's been opened it's moot. So if you want to make it last and want more than 32oz, probably better to to do 2 x 32oz and fork out the extra dough. A properly sealed counter pressure filled growler can last a good while (although I wouldn't know as I have control issues)

Yeah I knew once you open it should be consumed right away, just looking at prices. I always stayed away from growlers because I used to work at a shop that filled straight from the tap with a hose and it always skeeved me out.

I figured say fill on a wednesday and consume friday or saturday would be ok.

    Thanks!

I have had OH growlers last nearly 2 weeks with no detectable carb issues. I haven't tested longer, but felt confident it had some time left

Growltap maybe? I don't have one but that might help a little

Remind me: Does the tap room open for pours at 10 on days with can sales?

Contrary to my previous post (in the November forum), Rattle West does have the monkish collab on tap. They told me no last night and then just now reached back out to me telling me yes (and that "it's delicious").

My office is only 3 blocks away so it looks like I'm going for a liquid lunch today.

Blowin Up confirmed at Rattle West; they had one year anniversary last night, I his that's why (plus Hill Farmstead, KBS, many great beers).

Will I be safe showing up at my usual 8:30am? I've been to 4 releases and never had a problem except ACE selling out because of an issue with the brewing process.

I'm probably gonna go to the can release this Saturday (my first time), but I'm wondering how I'm going to carry all of that beer back to my car (probably 2 cases and a bunch of the stouts). Should I bring a handtruck? Am I going to be the only guy with one? :flushed:

I will be there with one, so you won't be alone. Honestly a lot of people bring them.

Also, good luck parking. I have yet to find a reliable place to park. I got lucky and found a spot someone just pulled out of about 6 blocks away.

I usually park on the other side of Hamilton often on the west side of centre or a block up or down. I haven't been for several months but it was pretty easy parking around 7-8. Lugging beer back wasn't too bad either though not easy
