Respectfully disagree. BUTS is so hot and over-alcoholed it's kinda hard to drink. Even two weeks in there's nothing soft or approachable about this beer at all.

The one (of two I have)can I had so far was not that hot to start off but as it warmed it became more and more apparent. Certainly not as hot to me as some other OH beers were around a year ago. That said my buddy that has the other two cans thought the opposite and it was way too hot

Damn. Thanks but I'm over it by now. Figured I saved myself $15. Although I would have like to see how it tasted. Anyone open one yet? Curious to see how it aging it longer in red wine barrels compares to the last time they had it on tap.

I saw Gold Start had two Prairie Noir's as of last night, but the 12oz bottles are usually $16 and I thought "Hm...maybe those $15 OH and Finback stouts aren't such a bad price".

Lagunitas Hi-Westified six packs are $13.99 and u get 6 beers for the price of one of those.

The price is what it is. There will always be beers that are a better value, and some that are less of a value. Lagunitas is a different economy of scale, and isn't paying Brooklyn rent prices.

I find these bottles make nice gifts for people who aren't "beer nerds" but are venturing into the craft world. Feels like an exclusive bottle.

Had BA Orbit last night, thought it was great, best of the 3 released 2 weeks ago.

I feel like bourbon BA stouts probably aren't a great introductory beer for anyone that isn't a big bourbon fan.

And even some bourbon fans. My buddy loves bourbon and stouts but hates bourbon BA stouts

I'm also one of these people. I keep giving them a shot but just not a fan. Give me those wine barrel aged beers though and im good to go.

BUTS is still way too hot for me personally but the hop blend is amazing. At the right temperature, it's candy.

If you drink it out of the fridge, you get nothing but booze. Pour it in a wide glass, and let it sit 5 or 10 minutes, makes a world of difference. It is no world beater, but at the abv it is really drinkable and way less heat than AGE and some others OH has put out near that level.

Agree 100%. I think a lot of people are cracking this beer thinking it's some DIPA that's meant to be pounded. If AGE is considered a triple IPA @ 10.5 so is BUTS and in my mind, anyone saying it's hot needs to read the label.

Disagree. There have been a couple batches of AGE that were insanely dialed in.

I really wanted to go to this release but with the shitty weather plus all the other releases going down next week (LIC, Interboro, Threes) I'm probably gonna have to pass.
It sucks because all 5 beers sound delicious. Hopefully a few stick around for an extra day or two
