God damn is right. I missed the first release as well but just opened one and OMG! This can go toe to toe with DDH DMD any day...and might be better!

 

So what else could they Double dry hop? Maybe the single hop series?

Yea it actually really sucks. Cant finish the can. I'll let the rest sit for awhile. I was hoping it was just the can but unfortunately you've had the same experience.

 

I don't think Green Diamonds is tasting all that different from the last batch I had over the summer. Found it underwhelming then and I'm finding this batch equally underwhelming. GD and AGE need to be retweaked, if you ask me. Hard to justify their purchase nowadays when Other Half's newer offerings blow them out of the water.

 

It's actually not so bad as it warms, getting more of the Galaxy now. I don't know the aroma at first gave me a corn like smell, but I thought maybe I was going crazy.

 

I agree with the retweaking of GD (I don't drink AGE) but whatever they did with Hop Showers really made me love that beer.

 

It literally tasted like an IPA that sat in the sun for a week or more. Really stale with an extremely unfavorable sweetness. The hops flavor seemed really off and old.

 

DDH Broccoli would be nice

 

Its funny because I always loved hop showers and havent noticed a concernible difference from the first time I had it in 2014 and from the recent batch. Still got that dry finish which I love. It was actually the first beer I had from OH and has continually been my favorite.

 

DDH ACE reminds me of a stronger version of lagunitas born yesterday (when it was fresh). Very dank flavors....which my palate apparently loves!

 

I didn't care for it either. I don't know if it's because I tried Moteuka/Galaxy and that was phenomenal or if it wasn't the same. Maybe I'm just used to being assaulted by these DDH beers, I don't remember what a normal beer tastes like anymore.

 

I thought it was maybe because I had been drinking DDH beers all day but I had a can of SGE and Sand City Close Talker and both were fantastic. This batch of GD is so dissapointing.

 

It's been awhile since I've had GD before this release and now I remember why I wasn't a huge fan of it. I only bought it because I went to OH last Sunday and waited 45 minutes to buy cans at the taproom so I justified waiting by buying one more 4 pack then I originally planned. My logic is flawed.

 

They did re-evaluate AGE? I suppose GD is next

 

I can see how that could be misinterpreted haha. Meatpacking with a capital "M". As in the district.

 

Ha, i know. I've just never in my life seen a brewery crowd at all resemble a fancy nightclub one.

(Though if 1 OAK girls are now hanging out at Other Half I guess I will welcome that development.)
