Remember Get Wheated? That beer was terribly underrated.

Loved Get Wheated. What's seemingly also underrated around these parts is Twice Baked. I know the beer will never live up to the hype that surrounded it, but man was that some tasty stuff. Someone said it reminded them of the recent Raining Threes and I concur except this one was even brighter and somehow more drinkable. Maybe not standing on the line that day and grabbing a growler of it made it taste better.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, a lot of the bright flavor has left my cans. It reminded me very heavily of Monkish's (My People's Come First) insistence on a kind of carbonated freshness in their IPAs.

Since release morning ("potato release"), there have been so many more pages on this thread it's absurd and don't wanna read back.
For anyone who actually waited for those 3 beers, what are people's thoughts so far? Please try not to include "hype" in your tasting notes

I didn't wait for cans, but I was fortunate enough to have some cans thrown my way by a very generous BA member. With an attempt to not let hype cloud my judgement I'll give a quick rundown of each beer.

Taters: my personal favorite of the three based off of the strength that it tastes completely unique when compared to Other Half's usual fare. I would assume that's due to the fact that it employs two hops that Other Half rarely uses (Enigma and Riwaka). I get big notes of passionfruit with some strawberry and citrus as well. Super flavorful for 5.5%. Liked it enough to pick up a growler of it on Saturday.

Twice Baked Potato: Extremely good, but also extremely reminiscent of Raining Threes. That's obviously not the worst thing in the world, but I was hoping for something a little different. Big orange and pineapple notes. Medium mouthfeel. Don't remember picking up on much booze, but then again I only had one can so far. I still have another and I'll report back if my opinion changes.

Fully Loaded Baked Potato: Again, it's a very good beer but it reminds me a lot of 3rd Anniversary. The only difference I could see is that Fully Loaded is a bit more bitter/boozy at the moment, whereas 3rd Anniversary drank like a fruit smoothie from the get-go. Maybe it just needs a little time? I don't know, but it's another similar tasting beer. I still have a can of this as well that I'm gonna sit on, so maybe I'll have something more profound to say in two weeks or so.

    Hope that helps.

I feel like this is a better representation of my thoughts. I enjoyed Smooth Beats Miami, but not to the point where I could drink more than 2 cans of it. I also find that a lot of coconut beers just end up tasting artificial (think sunscreen). If this is a double batch and I have the chance of rolling in when the line dies down to pick up some cans I might be more inclined to go to this release, but I'm treading lightly for the moment.

Ugh really want Stacks and Space, but I don't like coconut and hate that the line will be longer that it should be because its a collab.

Tropical Depression 2.0? I am also confused.

Damn, I've missed out on everything recently due to waiting for potatoes and this. I knew I should have went and got Mylar Bags instead of holding out.

This might be the FOMO talking but this release is tempting, I won't be able to try The Veil collab unless I go pick up cans. But I've really liked everything I've had from The Veil and Space Diamonds is just the icing on the cake.

I'm going to be in town this weekend and was hoping to stop by and have a few beers and grab some cans. If I head over in the afternoon on Sat is there a chance the other non collab cans will still be available? I fine with drinking the veil collab on tap and just getting the more standard beers. Not feeling waiting in line so I only get to NYC a couple of times a year these days... Thanks!
