I'm somewhat new to the growler game, but I 100% agree with above posts. Being able to walk in on a Sunday, get a couple of 32oz fills and enjoy a beer without having someones elbow in your gut is a plus.

Let's not forget about how easy it is to get OH on draft around the city as well

So Governor Cuomo is having a vote on best breweries in NY State.
However I see Other Half is not on the list?

Looks like they invited everyone in the state brewer's association to participate, and the note further suggests that only those who opted in were included. Finback was missing also. And let's be honest, it's really not fair putting OH against most of those, is it?

I would be surprised if someone opted out since I see quite a few missing that would love to get free promotion - more so breweries tend not to be great at responding as they are too busy with day to day stuff.

I have never been to OH so I don't know and I don't own a brewery, having said that I don't buy the argument for OH not lowering limits. Besides all the points that have already been mentioned, this is how every other popular brewery in the country does it. The most you can get from a treehouse release is like 14 cans, granted they do a couple a week. A case limit when there are 2-4 beers is unnecessary on every level and doesn't make sense. I don't buy the getting rid of it argument because how many more people would go on a Saturday when they know they could get it from 12pm on. Veil started with case limits, realized it was a terrible idea and now most are 2-3 4 packs per beer. It just makes sense.

I am coming to town in a month for work and am going to be stopping by on a Thursday at open. Are there normally cans to go or do they get sold out on the weekend? I'd like to bring some back to Chicago.

Also, what are some bars that have OH or other good breweries on tap? My hotel is by the stock exchange.

A guy from IL asked a similar question a while back here. Some good information there.

Cans are usually gone by Sunday.

Growler Bites is right next to my hotel and looks to have some pretty good stuff on tap! I appreciate it.

Similar question. I'm in town this weekend and planning to stop in on Saturday. Is this like visiting the Alchemist, where you need to plan to stand in line a couple of hours? Do people queue up at 10am or can you come and go throughout Saturday?

I've never had an OH beer, so I have no idea how popular beers for Saturday release are this week - but it looks like a full lineup of DDH.

Also add Fraunces Tavern, which is literally a stone's throw from Stone Street (pun intended), as they have a solid tap list and the food is excellent

Veil has been doing that for around 2 weeks and I doubt that it will stay that way. OH literally could not have more people on most Saturday afternoons. Until they open the new space, their taproom is essentially the size of a single car garage.

The first night in town we have our work dinner at Fraunces so that works out well.

    Thank you.

So will the cheddar tekus create a cluster? Or will the modest limit of 2 keep the line moving along? Also I'm curious if ain't nothin' nice will have a higher case yield because it is a single and not double ipa? Thoughts?

The shape of broccoli looks better than a block of cheddar cheese. Maybe not fly to LA for a date better, but I can see a gal at least flying out to Chi-Town and giving a guy a peck on the cheek or something in exchange for this one.
