Right now I think we have very different definitions of "fun".

The straight lupulin version has a very harsh hop burn. That’ll settle in a week or two but it was a struggle to drink 4oz today.

27 degrees is shorts weather in the northern New York.

The problem is that Other Half introduced their beers to upstate proper (not that White Plains bs we get down here) last weekend via the Syracuse drop. Now all of my fellow upstaters are coming down from the tundra to raid our IPA supply. This will likely continue all winter.

Do people realize how freaking cold out it is? And do they realize that they have a solid 12+ hours in it?? WTF

Jesus. The best part may be that this dude tried the beer being released tomorrow on tap tonight (based on his Untappd history) and rated it 3.75. So he's now made the conscious decision to wait in sub-freezing temperatures for 12 hours to spend money on beer he thought was just okay, but nothing special? I've rationalized these ridiculous linelyfers in the past by telling myself that these people must be incapable of overcoming their FOMO on the best one-off "I-had-it-and-you-didn't-and-it-was-amazing" beer ever, but I can't even with this one.....

Can somebody please tell me what the hell is going on in this weird fucking subculture that is craft beer???! How have we been conditioned to accept this as an unavoidable side effect of current conditions whereas it'd be totally incomprehensible--if not bordering on insane--to anybody outside of this oddly insular "beer community"?

Simple, as the demand (different than quality!) of the product increases, so too does the effort of some to acquire it. That's not unique to beer, even if craft beer was born out of a more sensible movement!

Why are people so obsessed with what other people want to do with their time and money? Lol, I find this thread hilarious sometimes.

Here's what really gets me about all of this: I expressed the opinion that I felt Other Half had surpassed Trillium in terms of the quality of their IPAs under the supposition that I was in the minority by thinking that way. I was met with unanimous agreement (barring a silent majority), yet people are still lining up overnight in the freezing cold for a bunch of collabs with a brewery that (seemingly) most people feel is inferior to OH when it comes to IPAs.

    How bizarre life is sometimes.

Just checking in to let you know I opened my last Alternate Side Zamboni, and it's still tragic.

Had them at the taproom tonight. Enjoyed 45/90 the most, found Lupulin to be a bit bitter for my palate, and the triple was a bit big. Feel like they will really hit after 2-4 weeks in the can. I'll be swinging by around 10:30 or 11 and won't be too upset if I miss it.

Like the beers but I'd rather have DMD, ACE, SD, etc.

Apparently, it doesn't even matter... The "I-had-it-and-you-didn't" drive is strong with this one....

These people are waiting on line now to resell right? I've noticed a lot of people in this thread saying the quality of this release doesn't justify waiting for 12 hours in sub-freezing temps, but that's not really the reality of the situation, correct? The lower limits are gonna make the resale value on these beers shoot up.

Not that it makes it any better...

Fuck as of 3:30 (according to Instagram) the line was getting close to Court. Can’t believe it - I was so naive. Again! All things considered (cold as fuck, low limits, people able to try them beforehand and consensus being that they’re nothing mind blowing) this has to be the craziest line to date.
