I know it's so 20th Century and anti-millennial, but you could call OH on your phone.

Ha! Of course. So, I guess they expect you to send them an email...which won't be read until the next day, if ever. Or just rely on their Instagram posts.

Trying to go through this thread, but generally... have some cans been lasting through to Saturday afternoon? I know I went there in October on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to find several different cans. Didn't know if that was an outlier.

this week is a crapshoot with a rye iipa being featured and lowered limits. if only OH had the ability to post case counts then there would be a better idea of what may or may not last. id say at least a couple beers make it to the afternoon prob the non trip dry hopped rye. wouldnt expect broc cheddar to make it and depending on limits the iipa collab as well.

if anything the porter collab should still be available.

@Kanger, can we please get a case count for this Saturday's release? Despite both Triangle Test and Florida Plates being limited to 4 four packs pp, the former lasted beyond the line while the latter didn't. So things seems a bit up in the air. Would be great to get a sense of quantity so we can plan accordingly.

Triangle test was four different beers, likely a quad batch. Florida plates was a single

But wouldn't each Triangle beer be a single batch, or am I mistaken?

I think what @SpinSamzo is saying is that the whole single/double/triple batch description really doesn't tell us much due to its ignorance of several key variables that also vary batch-to-batch (e.g., production yield, can-to-keg ratio). Things like ABV and adjunct usage impact batch yields in ways that can't be precisely predicted, even when the exact recipe is known. Each "single batch" of beer will not necessarily yield the same case count, and oftentimes, the resulting counts can be wildly different!

The obvious solution (that most breweries following OH's can release sales model employ) is to count cases as/after they are safely packaged and share them with customers at that time (whether a few hours or a few days before sales begin). This helps customers manage expectations and make plans accordingly. I'm still not aware of any downsides (for OH or other involved parties) to sharing this information, so I, too, would love to see it happen!

Sure, quad batch isn't 100% accurate as it wasn't one beer, but they had 4 single batches of each as opposed to one single batch. If we approximate with about 180 cases of each, and people maxing on 1/3 a case (2 4pks) of each beer, that's ~540 allotments.

180 cases of florida plates at 2/3 a case is 270 allotments.

It was a social experiment, one quad batch, four different labels.:stuck_out_tongue:

Totally, I get that, though I disagree on sentiment with "wildly different!" unless we're comparing session ipas to super dry hopped triple ipas or something.

I too would love to see it happen. This might seem counter intuitive, but I'm conflicted as to whether or not it would make a difference. I have a "target time" I shoot for when I go to OH so as to make it home early and with a bigger batch I'm more likely to go rather than go later.

If we agree (which most of us seem to typically be in agreement of) that OH is thirsty for that hype, then it makes sense to me that they wouldn't post exact case counts. They have done it for the most outrageous releases, but it would be nice to see more often.

Ah gotcha, makes sense, thanks! I would imagine a decent number of buyers also only purchased one 4 pack per Triangle beer, in order to try them all and keep costs down, which extended their availability.

Wish I could make this release, Wanger sounds dope and I have a cheddar broccoli Teku and haven’t drank the eponymous beer in it yet. Case count on the triple triple will be lower due to absorption from both the grain and hops but I would say probably ~180 cases for a single batch.

So far there is not a single use of #HangOutWithYourWangiesOut on Instagram, so I'm excepting that to change come Saturday.

Coming into town tomorrow, planning on visiting for the first timtime, and will miss the Saturday release. Do they often have less sought after vans available or is it release and that’s it?

Anybody here have thoughts on that juicy brews festival? I don't quite understand the appeal of drinking a lot of one specific interpretation of a single style of beer. Especially having that festival in an area of the country pretty much saturated with "juicy brews".
