Yea I regretfully agree. It sounds like something I would really enjoy but it just falls short of the mark for me. Almost sour meets red wine or something idk. My gf said it's her favorite IPA so it will go to good use

I've only had Grape and Forever Simcoe and I really really enjoyed the Forever Simcoe. Light lemony-citrusy, full of flavor. Really delicious

Anyone tried Other Southern? Had it on tap this weekend and was very impressed.

On this topic I wish they would make King's Ransom again. Absolutely fantastic Baltic Porter

I thought it was nice though I preferred Broccoli.

I sampled 3 4oz pours while there for the release Saturday ($4 for a 4oz pour is ridiculous btw). I liked Other Southern the best actually. Nothing like OMG you have to try this but slightly better than Broccoli for me, though not by much, and both were signifcantly better than Magic Green Nuggets which I didn't really care for. 4oz pours don't always do it justice though

Damn, I forgot to try Broccoli. Probably bought too much Mylar -- so far it's okay, but not nearly as good as recent offerings like Amarillo, ACE, or Southern Passion/J-17. In a first, none of Saturday's other options were tempting in the least. Any word on what's next?

I think it's the best of the bunch. I give it the slight edge over Mylar.

I'm typically not a huge fan of simcoe because I don't like piney IPAs, but I did enjoy Forever Simcoe. The pineyness is very subdued and it's taking on a more citrusy character. Though I do like Mylar Bags and Grape Conversate better. Mylar has a smoother mouthfeel, and I appreciate the experimentation of the grape IPA, where Forever seems to be more typical OH, not a bad thing but just nothing to make me say "Wow" like Mylar. The stout is a distant 4th. It's good, but not near on par with say We're Out Here in Orbit, or King's Ransom. Though I am thankful of getting a canned stout from OH.

The purp seems to be tasting much better than 2 days ago. Less medicinal and more creamy popsicle taste.

so sad that i'm on my last can of DDH double mosaic dream but extremely happy OH doesn't put out beers that you have to 'incubate'.

I'm curious where this lupulin powder will take brewers. DDH DMD was insane and I'm not even the biggest fan of Mosaic hops.

does anybody else get that battery taste from the lupulin powder? especially super fresh. It's kinda like pop rocks but not as intense.

I definitely got a "pop rocks" sort of sweetness, glad I wasn't the only one who said that.

Oh, and one of the cans confirmed to be in the release on the 22nd is Smokescreens + Oilslicks. There's also a host of shit in barrels that will be start being bottled for release in November onward.

Edit: That's what I get for not reading back in the thread: Mosaic, Space Diamonds, Smokescreens and Oil Slicks and Southernhopalisic for the 22nd.

I hope they can doug again soon. That might be the most underrated OH beer for me.

Their instagram didn't say anything about selling out of short, dark, and handsome so I'm assuming there is still cans left. How is it, should I pick up a 4 pack tomorrow when I go. I'll get growlers for sure.

It's delicious, good chocolate and roast character, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Really nice beer for the cold weather.

I'm so pumped that Mosaic is making a return to cans and since I missed Space Diamonds, that's also a plus.
