Boils down to personal preference, and what one is consuming: green, raw, super hoppy/dankness…smooth, creamy, juicy…sweet, malty, fading hops

    per @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales

    When to drink the cans:
when you like them best. i prefer them 3 weeks and under. Here's how i think they evolve:

The more dry hopping, the more egregious the oxidation becomes... for example dreamweapon had less dry hopping so it may not have had as much explosive hop character, but i could actually enjoy an 8 week old dreamweapon more than an 8 week old afterimage.

Cans usually hit shelves at the 1 week old mark, so customers don't really get a chance to drink them in the initial few "green" days

I have a can from July and this weeks batch, will do a blind taste test tonight and report back.

I thought the DDH ACE from this weeks batch tasted a little green. I like the fresh hops flavor so I enjoy it but I imagine it will achieve peak juiciness in a week or two.

I like the flavor of the DDH Enigma Forever Ever but I really hate IPAs with absolutely no head or lacing on them. I wish this beer had a 1-2 inch persistent head on it, otherwise it's kind of a mess.

While tasting fruity, I dont often find OH beers taste juicy (maybe the most overused descriptor?) right out of the gate. For example Ddh dmd is a great beer and usually really pungent and flavorful on day 1 but at 3+ weeks the flavors mellow/meld and then I find it reminds me of juice.

With that said, green power was great right out of the gate.

I find their smaller beers do even better with even more time, but again, personal preference.

I had a 2 month old DDH Daydream in Green and to me it was better than it was at 4 weeks or under.

I don't bring this up in threads but I kind of think when brewers tell you to drink their beers insanely fresh, it's just their way to influence people in believing once the beer hits x amount of weeks then the beer is no longer good, and in return people return week after week to buy their product.

Agreed. I definitely think new beer being sold every week at lots of breweries adds another layer to the "drink fresh/now" craze.

That's not to suggest that one should intentionally age IPAs, but I just had a Green from TH yesterday that was brewed at the end of June that still tasted fantastic. The same, maybe not, but still fantastic. I have also found, albeit in my limited experience that some breweries IPAs, like OH tend to hold up better than others.

Anyone there today? Taking my mother in law in a bit and hoping it's not overly crowded

Ok, did a side by side. Granted, there was a 50% chance of me being right, but I was able to identify the newer one quite easily. After smelling and tasting both of them, I was 99% sure I knew which one was which. I suck at describing beer, but the newer one had a very vibrant smell, the older one had a very muted smell. As far as taste, the newer one had a very fruity, juicy taste and was a lot sharper. The older one was dull and obviously falling off.

This is a fantastic beer, liquid gold, drink them fresh while you have them. Right now I have DDH ACE as one of the best DIPAs I have had from any brewer.

It was really packed at 5, but it's a little more manageable now. I waited 15 minutes to get a pour.

Went to Other Half for the first time since they opened up their new taproom. OH's atmosphere may be my favorite atmosphere out of any brewery I've ever been to. Such cool vibes, and they played awesome rap music. The new taproom is a great upgrade over the old one. We got there around 12:30ish and there was plenty of space. Only when we were about to leave (3:30ish) did it start to get packed.

All the beers I had were fantastic. Cream Get The Honey may have been the most surprising beer I tried - they did a phenomenal job with the honey combination. DDH Daydream in Green was unreal as well.

I can't help but make a comparison between the OH taproom and Yankee Stadium. While the new version is infinitely better, I'm still a bit sentimental for the original.

Just wish Yankee Stadium had a taplist like this....

Looking forward to the day when I don't have to hear about tekus or the potential teku releases.

Triple Cream sounds interesting, but I'll be sitting this one out.

Ace cans are done. Tons of forever and ever, and a decent amount of centennial cans.

Also, first time here, they seem to live up to the hype.
