I don't Advocate drunk driving by no means, but are we still bitching about the same thing over and over again. Keep beating that dead horse. Who cares what these old guys are doing. If it bothers you people so much call the police, tell OtherHalf or stop complaining about. Obviously they don't care about doing it. These threads are about talking about the beer and the brewery not some old man acting like children. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT OR STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT IT. See something say something.

Or the same people could stop complaining about the same thing every two weeks.

Line is "not so bad" by usual standards. Still not to Garnet!

After the shitshow that was two weeks ago. Some of you clearly don't realize that what goes on will more than likely impact the brewery. Not in positive ways.

Also not trying to defend anyone either but it seems fairly under control in my area. At least in my section there are more people drinking than not. They're cleaning up after themselves & not being rowdy. The OH dude walked through handing out wristbands & didn't say anything. And the OH restrooms are open for use.

Wonder if there was no drinking in line at all, how many of the people who are in the line drinking would show up at all? Would they wait 3 or 4 hours if they couldn't drink? Some would, but I bet a lot wouldn't. Would the whalescrew get there at 5:30 and stare at the sidewalk for 5 hours until OH opened, I highly doubt it. That 3 or 4 hour wait might only be a couple of hours if less people were in the line.

Lets face it, the scene at OH went from a place selling beer every couple of weeks to a block party. Maybe OH doesn't care, maybe the police don't care, who knows. But this is a beer forum, if people want to call out bad behavior of beer geeks, then this is the place to do it. Because the behavior of people at those releases does impact other people.

It's nice in theory but I doubt that'll happen. Almost all of this started post street green release. I've picked up a lot of cans from their first canning run up until the make it rain release. There was never any crew setup in the front. I showed up at 945 for the AGE cans released prior to street green and had 15 people in front of me. 95% of the time I'd go around noon and get cans, a growler, have a beer and be out in a half hour. Those days are long gone it seems and I doubt lines will change or people drinking in them.

I am kind of tired of reading about this as well and it should be about the beer - I am from Jersey and prior to Street Green probably went to a dozen releases and never saw anyone drinking in line - after that got turned off and stopped going to their can releases. I wish it hasn't turned into what it has as well. FWIW I have never drank beer in line anywhere

Please stop bitching about "Jersey" already - its getting old.

If you are such advocates for being against drunk driving join MADD or something and put this energy to good use.

Their behavior is corny and trashy but lets be honest it's not only people from Jersey - not all of us are losers like this and we are just as entitled to enjoy OH beers as anyone else without being put into the same bucket as these people. Plenty of people living in NY are transplants from somewhere else - (even Jersey).

At some point, can we hold the brewery responsible? People report that Other Half are walking through giving wristbands and not saying anything. Don't they reserve the right of who they can sell to? Couldn't they simply ask the people who are drinking to leave or not give them a wristband? I mean Hill Farmstead kicks people out for suspicion of muling or re-selling. I think that would put a pretty quick end to the block party, no?

I'm not advocating for drinking in line/drunk driving/etc but I can't feel bad for a business that don't want to help themselves. It seemed to get out of control at the last release and Other Half didn't implement any changes? That makes me believe that Other Half doesn't care, so do we really need to "defend" Other Half every 2 weeks?

Other Half is going to end up the way of The Alchemist. The neighborhood is eventually going to be fed up with a line of people outside their doors every other Saturday at the crack of dawn and theyll have to change the way they do business. Then everyone will get all sorts of salty feelings.

I don't understand the obsession with these can releases. I've been going to OH ever since they opened and stopped going to can releases 6 months ago. Wed-Sun I can go to the taproom and get growlers of just about everything and if it's a small release like "!" I can get a pour, try it and then leave with a growler or two for the week of something else great. Additionally, there are like 25+ bars in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, etc that always have at least one fresh OH release on draft. Am I missing something? You won't hear me complain, I understand what's going on and have made a small adjustment. Drinking beer should be fun and something you enjoy with friends.

Not everyone lives in the city. I'd be plenty content to have it on draft at places by me but I don't see that happening so cans are the only option. I'm burned out on the can releases myself. I'd rather sleep in and make a ten minute drive to Kane or 25 to carton for some beers and cans.

it's not a block party, it's a beer-dick measuring contest among people who like to show off that they are drinking "cool" beer in front of a crowd who is supposed to be impressed.

I couldn't imagine waking up at 7am every other Saturday and seeing a bunch of assholes drinking and littering in my front "yard" -- public sidewalk or not, I would be furious

OH opened 10-15 mins early line seems to be to the end of the block. They did up the limit to Stacks to four 4-packs.
