Sorry for the off topic post, but....

I'm sitting here turning some friends from the midwest on to Other Half and I'm curious as to whether or not we have any idea as to the next can release. I'm thinking Saturday the 22nd if history holds, which sucks because I'll be out of town that weekend. Mosaic and what else?

I'll guess Citra and Hop Showers, but will go with a 8/15 release.

Would like to see them throw something new in a can. Forever Ever, G is for Green, etc.

Awite folks, got some random questions that might have been answered in earlier months, but I'm not going searching (and it's not in the first page summary):

Does anyone know the story behind all the hip-hop related beer names at Other Half? I assume they love Outkast and especially have a weakness for Phife Dawg lyrics. Anyone know if there's a story behind this or they're just big hip-hop heads?

*** Side note, I love the music every time I've visited. Can't think of another brewery that so unapologetically bumps hardcore (and classic) hip-hop.

Also, has Other Half done away with bottle releases?

I made it to Trillium today John. I've been in MA on vacation so took a trip to Congress St. Lucky to find a meter not too far. Took me about 45 mins to get through the line and walked out with 4 and 2 Sleeper St. Will probably open a Green this weekend to give it time to settle.

On the rap names - Boogie Board Stuntz is pulled from Twin Peugeots by Action Bronson. Maybe Anthony can annotate all of the names sometime.

I think it's next week. Mosaic and GD I believe, not positive but I'll ask.

Yeah they just love Hip Hop.

I'm sure they'll put out more bottles in the future.

The first time I walked into Other Half last summer they were playing Action Bronson's "Saab Stories" in its entirety. The next time I came they were playing a bunch of different A Tribe Called Quest stuff, at that point I knew I had finally found a brewery where I felt like I belonged. Til this day I have yet to walk into a brewery or beer bar with a better hip hop playlist than OH. Almost every time I'm there they are playing great stuff and always serving top quality beer. "Short Dark and Handsome" is one beer that comes to mind when thinking about hip hop inspired OH beer names.

Yup. Nas's "It Was Written" was playing in its entirety on my first vist.

Joey Badass and Action Bronson the most recent visit.

I agree that I feel at home there. Here in New Mexico, banjos are what you here most places and I've found that's the case in a lot of southwestern places. If not that, then hardcore metal. I tolerate the former, but can't deal with much of the latter.

Also, "All That and Then Some" since you mentioned "Short, Dark and Handsome," although given the sequence of that verse, "All That and Then Some" should have dropped first. Haha.

Go to Proletariat on Monday nights. Anthony from OH works there and plays Hip Hop.

Also I recommend Fat Buddha on Ave A. They regularly have hip hop stars DJ there. Jeru, De La Soul, Red Alert, etc play there all the time. Afrikan Bambaata is there tonight. Just look for the bar with all the Hip Hop Records in the window.

Wow the Trillium collab is already toast. There are gonna be some salty folks getting off work to zero bottles left.

They'll just have to console themselves with growlers of it.

My brother got some! Now I need to find time to visit him in Mass. Said he waited an hour and 15 minutes.
Got his 6 bottles just before they dropped the limits.

Trillium is on the left by the gray tarp. Line went down the street and wrapped around the block. If they come down here, it too would be crazy!

Proletariat in general has awesome music. They keep a good mix--- funk, soul, hip-hop and punk. I don't care for punk music but enjoy it when I'm at Proletariat.

I had a friend stop by and pick up some Green St. He got there around 2pm and by the time he got to the front of the line the limit had dropped to 4 bottles pp. He also got 4 bottles of Summer Street. Would rather have this beer in the OH can format but I ain't complaining. Someone did mention in the Trillium thread that 1/2 of this is coming to Brooklyn. Not sure of the validity of that. Here is another view of the line from the other direction.

Ok Ignore what I said about cans. Things have changed, but can't say much more at the moment.
