That place is probably charging more than the brewery. They price gouge like crazy.

...and that place would be East Park Beverage

Just learned my lesson. No prices listed anywhere, just picked up the following:

    64oz Oat Overdose fill
    64 oz 2nd Anniversary fill
    Grimm Super Spruce bottle

    $70

That's honestly not that bad - a 32oz fill of 2nd Anniversary was $20 at the brewery, so let's assume a 64oz if they were doing it would be ~$38. Oat Overdose 64oz fills were something like $24-26, so right there you're at $62-64 for the two fills. But yea... it's a lot of money.

well if people have no problem paying those prices - there is no incentive to lower prices down the line.

Ok the price was insane . . . That said 2nd Anniversary is amazing. It's like they mixed Mosaic and Suparillo but made it softer.

How much were the cans? Why do the growlers cost twice as much?

That's pretty standard pricing for them. Growlers tend to cost twice as much as cans. AGE is also $20 for a 32oz growler and $20 for a 4-pack. I always thought it was a little weird, but it is what it is.

I am still of the (possibly naive) opinion that these beers are pretty expensive to make. They price the cans to move, because they don't want them hanging around, but the taproom pricing (closer to bar pricing) offsets that and helps their margin. What do I know though? Like Paulie... I don't know how to make a brewery.

Don't know what it is but it's pretty sad that the margins for a 32 oz growler pour is about the same as a draft pour at blind tiger. I would expect at least some sort of a discount at the brewery.

$8 12 oz pour at blind tiger = 66 cents an ounce
$20 32 oz growler at other half = 62 cents an ounce

I recently picked up a 64 oz growler of Suparillo at gold star for $19, I think it was $24 at the brewery.

It's not like you're paying for the ambiance and the world class service.
