I've almost finished my two four packs of Suparillo and this beer has been a joy to drink from the first day I bought it up until today. It's tasting just about perfect right now. I like it a tiny bit more than Green Diamonds. Top 5 favorite OH ipa of mine

I was really hoping greenbacks would be on tap for a growler fill. Probably my favorite beer from them.

Man, I felt it tasted best within "day of" to 5 days of canning.

Me and my buddies all popped a can in the car right after buying them and I can't lie that can may have been my favorite. So I'm gonna have to agree with you on that although I really dig the orange candy like flavor it has going on right now with 2 weeks on it

Ehh, just popped my last and am glad there aren't any left in my fridge! Perhaps the hop is too subtle for a beer this big /shrug.

I stupidly waited a week, based on what I read from a few people in here, and of the 3 cans I had none impressed me, and one was really hard to even finish. It's so weird how they can be so hit or miss

Im with you on this. I've have 3 cans left and i'm finding it hard to drink them. Superillo was a miss for me.

Had another can last night, tasted perfect. Have a 4 pack left... maybe i can trade it or take my chances that 2 or 4 will taste good

Are people getting major taste differences (real bad vs. real good) on cans within the same 4-pack? Or only 4-pack to 4-pack?

I haven't had a single can that I'd consider "bad", but a few of the first couple I had were definitely a tad boozy. Had a can last night and it tasted great and I've had 12 total thus far. I prefer the single version more, but I tend to not like double and triple IPAs as much. IMO IPAs are best in the 7-8% range with a few exceptions here and there (Grimm seems to really have their double IPAs dialed in). Really hoping it isn't too crazy of a release tomorrow but I'm expecting it will be at the very least similar to the turnout for Suparillo.

To be honest with you I have 2 4 packs and haven't had a single can I would say was good. They definitely weren't bad but all of mine so far have been super boozy.

Taste (Booziness vs Hoppiness) definitely varies from can-to-can within same 4 pack in my experience.

"Surprise! We'll be having cans of @otherhalfnyc IPA on sale tonight! Limit two four-packs per person and we'll update our @beermenus when their on sale!"

I really hope this becomes a thing for us locals. Such a great idea.

I can only see this happening when there's a tap takeover event the Friday night before a release at a place that's willing to deal with selling cans, as is the case with Covenhoven. In return, they can presumably draw more of a crowd to the bar for said event by getting fence-sitters to commit, given the allure of bringing home some cans.

Too bad it's OH IPA though. Not a fan...

Oh man! I was a fence sitter, but then I made other plans before seeing this... good thing those plans involve drinking OH leftovers at Haymaker

Yeah, I'd hate to be a beer bar having to deal with the draw of selling OH cans. Must be such a drag to have your target demographic flock to your location.

I think most places in the city could handle a timed distribution of an OH release, they already have to deal with Grimm.

Except if it's a bunch of people getting cans and then leaving, though I don't think that'll be the case for OH IPA... I'd imagine OH isn't releasing too many cans for sale tonight, because it'd be silly to have to pay a middle man, when their releases draw enough of a crowd as is.

If this was a beer store, I'd agree, but this is a bar, where they're hoping people stay around. Though given the neighborhood, I'm sure most people will have their hipster rucksacks on the ready, so I guess that eliminates the issue of everyone having to find something to do with their cans once they're purchased.

I think this only works because it's one of their least desirable canned offerings (at least that's the consensus from anyone I know that's had it), so I doubt people are going too far out of their way for two 4-packs.
