I think Other Half does a good job in getting kegs out of the special releases too. I've been able to get growlers of Green Street and Oat Overdose at Beer Boutique days after these big releases...Not worth waiting in those lines

    Told you I'd be back.

Diamond Mausoleum is a very good beer. When it's cold the aroma is very melony. The roast starts to come out as it warms. I feel like this is a more well-balanced version of Doug.

Take that with a grain of salt, though. After drinking a 2nd Anniversary I'm sure just about everything else is gonna taste a little "subdued" to me. Still can't get over what an amazing juice-bomb 2nd Anniversary is.

    Good news for the hood...

Bill Durney from Hometown BBQ is opening Hometown Fried Chicken in Red Hook this June. I like Gaddy Lane, but imagine strolling into a can release and seeing this:

I got my Master's in less time than waiting in a line at OH for an IPA.

In all seriousness, I was at Carton this afternoon and met a couple who was bragging about getting drunk during a bottle share at OH at 7am. I was a little irked as this seemed to be the coolest thing on earth to them and everyone should bow down (im not a fan of having bottle shares at 7am in a fkn residential neighborhood bc you feel entitled)..but what got me was the fact that they were bragging about being drunk by 8-9 and then getting in there car and driving to Carton. Absolutely pathetic.

Cool Tired Hands shirt bro, you must love beer enough to risk other peoples lives.

Still any cans available at open tomorrow? My girlfriend is generously considering making the trek out, and I don't want it to be in vain!

I know the exact couple you are talking about I've had the unfortunate pleasure of standing by them the last two releases. They get drunk and leave their garbage all over the side walk, absolutely pathetic people. An employee from other half had to go outside with a garbage bag and clean up all their crap.

Say something to them. I know some people don't want to get in an altercation and I can't blame them, but stand up and tell the assholes to pick up their garbage. Don't let shitty behavior like that stand.

Big public ups to @rojapa for hooking me up with a little bit of each release. Only tried the 2nd Anni so far, but definitely one of their best. Surprisingly smooth mouthfeel for a 9%er - used to their bigger IPAs getting sweet (see GD and AGE). For sure their best >7% hoppy offering I've had.

Man, it's been forever since I've had any OH cans in my fridge. I think my last successful can run was for Simcoe. Since then, between not being able to make it because of the holidays, being out of town, and getting to OH and turning around because of the line... I'm going thru serious withdrawal.

Hopefully the next release won't be as crazy.

I believe someone said the next release is All Green Everything and Equinox. If that is the case i think it will be back to normal...

    That's my hope.!

I realized something this past weekend... folks in NJ/PA typically have cars, so they are at a real advantage in this release game. They come out for OH, and can hit up places like Carton, Kane, Tired Hands, etc. For us public-transit-bound folks in NYC, the beer game is way harder.

Exactly. I'm dying to get my hands on an irregular 4-pack, but the Seastreak fare/renting a car is just not worth it money-wise.
