Before I was smart enough to figure out that I should put my ice in my insulated backpack in a sealed plastic bag, I would go to OH, get buzzed and on way home drip water all the way through the NYC subway system and LIRR!

How come I don't see anything about the Galaxy and AGE can release today on their twitter page?

    It's on Instagram!

Man, I dripped AGE on the way home after the first canning. The cans are pretty thin and one was nicked about 3/4 the way up so it would slowly leak the entire ride home. There wasn't enough spillage for me to notice it was broken but the smell of hops was overwhelming. I just kept thinking the whole way home, "Wow, this is really hoppy and fresh, I can smell it pouring out of the can!!"

Here's the overview we can post in each new monthly thread. If you see anything missing, let me know.

    Other Half Brewery - http://www.otherhalfbrewing.com/

Address: 195 Centre St Brooklyn, NY 11231

Tap Room Hours: Wednesday through Friday: 5 pm to 10 pm, Saturday: 12 pm to 10 pm, Sunday: 12 pm to 6 pm

Closest Subway Station: Smith-9th St (F and G Train)

Directions From Subway: Walk West on W.9th Street to the intersection, Make a Left on Smith St, walk two blocks and make a right on Centre St, Tap Room is halfway down the block across from the McDonalds. (Approx. 2 min walk)

Parking: Street parking is available near the brewery, but it can be difficult to find an open spot. Parking a few blocks away is suggested.

Current Tap List: Checking Untappd is the best way to find out what is currently available. Pours are available in 4oz/8oz/12oz/16oz depending on the beer. Tasting flights are not available.

Growler Fills: Other Half uses a Counter Pressure fill system. This requires that all 32oz and 64oz growlers have a 1.125” standard threaded opening.

Other Half branded growlers require a $5 deposit. Growlers from other breweries are welcome, but must follow those measurement guidelines. Not all beers are available for growler fills, please check the tap room menu board for details.

Can and Bottles Sales: Cans and Bottles are for sale in the tap room when they are available. Releases are announced via Other Half’s Instagram/Twitter/Facebook. Can releases occur every 2 to 3 weeks. Bottle releases are more sporadic. Cans and Bottles cannot be consumed on the premises.

Other Half Gear: OH branded growlers, glasses, and t-shirts are available in the tap room.

    Outside Beer:
Do not open bottles or cans in the Tap Room unless you have permission from the Other Half crew. Do not drink while waiting outside on line for releases. The sidewalk is NYC property and you can get a open container ticket.

Local Eats: McDonalds, Buttermilk Channel, Prime Meats, Frankie’s Spuntino, Court Street Grocer, plus many other places along Court St. Outside food is allowed in the Tap Room, just be aware there is not much room to eat.

Local Bars within a ~20min walk: MiniBar, The Owl Farm, Mission Dolores, Threes Brewing, Bar Great Harry, 4th Ave Pub, Pacific Standard, Supercollider, Park Slope Ale House, Lavender Lake.

Local Bottle Shops: First Place Provisions, Whole Foods Brooklyn.

Anybody know when they are open until tonight? No Wednesday hours on their FB. Id consider going a little later once rush hour traffic in and out of NY from NJ dies down. Really want to try Galaxy but the thought of that mess of traffic gives me a headache

Closing at 10pm almost teases me enough to get in late! But I'll pass. Hope to get a can of Galaxy somehow.

Thanks @Kanger for putting the info together!

Anyone out there? If so, how's the line looking? Not sure if I should head over now or give it some time.

Leaving work now. Should take me an hour or so to get there so I'll report back (unless someone else beats me to it).

The dumpsters past the garage entrance. Maybe 35-40 people waiting outside + however many inside waiting

The line isn't too bad. The BQE overpass is thoughtfully providing some shade.
