I hear you, just a fruitless attempt by me to slow down the hype. With the machine OH uses the growlers should last. Also, if you can get a DD, an afternoon sampling OH beers and hanging out with fellow beer geeks is a lot of fun.

People are showing up at OH who have never had their beer just because of "limited can release".

Thanks nmelione! And I do plan on having a beer or two in the tap room after I pick up some cans, but if I'm driving all the way to Brooklyn for beer I plan on bringing some cans home with me to enjoy the following few weeks.

Also, I have had several of OH's canned offerings in the past few months thanks to some kind friends and they were fantastic...not just hopping on the hype train, I really enjoy their stuff

I find this topic kinda funny for someone in my situation because I'm from Jersey but I live under half hour away from OH(driving) because I live so close to NYC but about an hour away from Kane and Carton so OH is technically more local to me than Kane or Carton.

I take some saran wrap and seal the top of the capped growler with a tight rubber band and my growlers can last for days - even more than a week if unopened.

I would post the article this is from - but BA is paranoid, so it's blocked:

For all those who complain about the small tap room:

"Other Half was never supposed to have a tap room. When their lease was signed, it wasn’t possible for breweries to sell their beer for consumption on premise. But with a law change allowing for this, severely lagging behind other states, they knew they’d need to carve out at least a small nook in order to interface with their customers. On any given day, particularly weekends, their tiny room is bustling with a healthy din of conversation and the clink of glasses. It’s not the largest tap room you’ll ever visit, but that hasn’t prevented crowds from testing its capacity. “People complain about the size of it, but we can’t control that, we never anticipated having it” exclaims Monahan."

me and my friends just take the path train in. its just easier, plus theres never the concern of tasting at the brewery or getting drinks after and driving home

Not terrible. Those cloth whole foods bags will each hold at least 4 packs. Rest fits in a small backpack. When the F acting up recently, it was a little more of a pain, but not insurmountable.

Not for nothing, my complaints were never lodged at their intent (though I wasn't aware of this piece of trivia). More frustrated with its discomfort now that they are so hugely popular and the tap room didn't magically expand to accommodate that fact. They need one of those Harry Potter Quidditch Cup tents. Those things are real, right? RIGHT?!

They posted the last can release on Monday, week of, at 5:54.
So no, there's no reason to panic...at least not for another two hours.

If I hear that the government is considering re-instituting Prohibition, then I will start to panic, until then..... carry on

I am hoping the lack of announcement is because of a silent release on Thursday simply because I will be there throwing back a few regardless.

It's only Monday. I would be surprised if they did a silent release based on previous releases when they said they didn't have space to store cans and need to sell them.

Unless they've changed their admittedly not public plans in the last 2 days it'll be on Saturday.

Since I will be out of town on Thursday it is likely they will release then.
