Shows how different taste preferences can be, I think Second Fiddle sucks but love OH Mosaic.

Agree, I was very disappointed by Second Fiddle. I dunno if I'd go as far as saying it sucks, but I thought it was pretty average and I prefer most OH beers to it.

I will probably end up swinging by the brewery next week after work for a few growlers instead. Tough to beat walking in at 6:30 and getting three 32oz growlers in <10 minutes. Most excited to try Get Wheated since the hoppiest wheat ale I've had was Trillium's Pier.

@Kanger how is the wheat IPA tasting?

Thinking of biking to get cans tomorrow. Any reason to think they wouldn't let a bike into the can garage? I've seen baby strollers in the tap room before, so I'm thinking I'm good.

Wow to both of you. I haven't had tree house anything, but I'd put Second Fiddle right next to Heady. but yea, to each his own

I thought the OH Mosaic they canned was the best hoppy beer I had in 2015, the new one doesn't come close. It was my first time trying Second Fiddle, and I thought it was great, and an absolute Mosaic bomb. Can't speak to how it varies batch to batch, but a group of experienced tasters were all impressed with it.

It was more intended as a comment on the new OH batch compared to last year's as opposed to saying OH or Second Fiddle was better. It just happened that the Second Fiddle got opened at the same time and really showed a lot of Mosaic hops.

Ha, I'm gonna blow your mind here, but I was also disappointed with Heady. Focal Banger, on the other hand, was awesome. And since you mentioned them, I like almost every Tree House IPA more than both those beers.

Heady put the NE Style IPA on the map but it is nowhere near being the best anymore. There are loads of beers doing way better things w/ this hop blasts. IMO, Treehouse is probably the king of the NE IPA style these days.

You'd be better off locking it up outside. I'm thinking people might look askance at a bike in the garage given the issues with the flow of people and cans in that small space.

I would still take a 4 pack of Heady over a 4 pack of Julius or Green

This is awesome. Hopefully works out better than this version of Mosaic IPA.

Is anyone else interested in Get Wheated? I love wheat beers and I'm interested to see what a Imperial Wheat IPA might taste like.

Yes, actually really looking forward to it because it'll be something different from their normal IPA releases.

Less than an hour ago, someone checked in on Untapped at OH and wrote the following:

Now that Tired Hands is in the City, I would suggest Kickphone iFlip if you have any doubts about a wheat IPA. Of course the hop profile is completely different and the abv is bit lower, but damn is it stellar ... @timnyc is also reassuring

Agreed. I actually prefer Second Fiddle to Heady, and it certainly kicks the crap out of most OH beers (which I love). Saying it sucks though is ludicrous, that would be like saying all OH beer sucks. It may not be your favorite, but on no planet does it suck.

As for Heady, it is still top tier. The balance of dankness, bitterness, and sweetness is a work of art. It is much more well rounded than most of the juice bombs out there now, but that is what the trend is. In many ways Heady achieves the well roundedness most beers do not. Not to mention, how many IPAs/IIPAs are 90% as good after 4-6 months as it is 1 day old? One, and the name is Heady Topper.

Never been to Other Half before and I am planning a trip tomorrow. Do I need to get in line or do the cans usually last through out the day? Any other tips are welcome. Thanks..Cheers
