Essex NJ, what a fucking dump. Maybe a little litter could do it some good.

 

Get Wheated is sold out but still some cases of Galaxy as of 20 mins ago.

NJ Kane threads could only hope to have as much bitching and angst as Other Half threads. Fingers crossed.

 

Seriously, and this release was hassle-free. It's infinitely worse with the shitshow releases.

 

Galaxy and Wheated weren't available for growler fills today. Not saying they won't be tomorrow, just going by what the board said this afternoon

 

Don't want to derail the intent of this thread (complaining about the "Jersey Whalebroz" or whatever), but this batch of Galaxy is soooo much better than the first canned batch. This is probably the smoothest IPA I've had from OH. Anyone on the fence about getting some tomorrow, I'd recommend it.

Also just want to say when I stopped by today, the tap room and garage was packed and flooded out to the side walk with customers. All smiles and just real good vibes. Same with the employees I saw. Real happy this place exists.

 

Haha! Yeah right! Kane knew the #jerzeewhalezbrocrew couldn't handle a bottle release so they went through BPT! If they just released ANTEAD like OH does cans, people would think it's Lollapalooza and be lining up at midnight for the #epicbottleshare. Did you also notice Kane released DBANTEAD with zero notice? That was on purpose.

 

Small request: please don't lump all of New Jersey (or entire counties) into the #whalezbro crew. Most of us are just regular people who enjoy beer

 

I agree that this batch is better then the first, the first batch was very vegetal until a month in when some of the body started to fade was left with a juicer beer

 

Agree. Essex is a county with some very nice towns and some shitholes.

 

Kane gave notice with Head High (canned IPA)…ANTEAD is not an IPA, or a canned brew for that matter

I’ve never seen a brewery try as hard as Kane to accommodate hyped up releases, regardless if the hyped up beer sucks or if the style is overlooked. 2015 ANTEAD was released multiple times in different mediums: BPT, Lottery, “Zero Notice,” special keg tapings…who else has done that? Perhaps Kane is a “confused puppy” when it comes to releases, but they're still relatively young and testing the mediums for the best suit. Henceforth, the Kane threads aren’t as long b/c they’re doing something right (less %$#^%$^&). Of Course, someone else could argue that they’re not as long b/c the mod’s keeps deleting the whining over sporadic releases.

To not derail, I hope OH has another release where the other can is not a collaboration

My wife enjoyed her first visit to OH yesterday. Based on these threads, we were planning to wait for an hour and a half but we were actually gone in just a shade over 30 minutes. Get Wheated was awesome, haven't had a galaxy yet. Looking forward to it.
