Remember that time some of you dipshits were arguing that nobody cares about drinking in line and to mind our own business?

Yet also implied that it doesn't actually matter if people drink because it's "just a $25 fine." Seems like they don't actually care they are just putting on a show for the cops. Everyone around me still drinking. I'm the only person I can see not drinking on Smith.

It's about time. When people are lining up at 6am in the morning, setting up chairs, coolers and using proper glassware things have gotten way out of control.

As noted by many here, many of the regulars have pretty much given up on the can releases because of what they have become. Would be nice if it returned to some sense of normalcy. Wouldn't be surprised if next shoe drops soon.

the best solution is weekday releases. allows locals to access it, and avoids the saturday shitshow and the riffraff it attracts. nothing wrong with canning on friday, and putting it out for sale the following wednesday, thursday, and friday.

I'm not a regular at OH but I've been there enough to know the guys there don't give a shit. Between drinking on line (which I don't mind), not making changes so the line moves more quickly, and the fact that they themselves are often bombed there, it's obvious they're content to brew solid beer and that's it.

That's a great solution. Unfortunately it's a solution to something that OH doesn't see as a problem. Based on the attitude of the people here, other than the superficial announcement to stop drinking, it's painfully obvious they don't care.

OH might not care but cops just swung by again, so they are def onto it and seem to care.

How was it superficial? Is it not enough that they simply asked? Did they need to make an impassioned speech and come up to everybody one by one and plead with them to stop?

I think just one general annoyed announcement should be enough to get their point across.

Good point, it's best after a couple days anyway. But I'm assuming they just don't have the space.

perhaps... although i dont think theyd have problem selling out the cans before the next canning, i figure they have other logistical issues (like kegs). hopefully the expansion will allow them to try new things.

See my post above about the guy collecting trash basically telling people it was fine to keep drinking. He immediately trailed the announcement. The announcement was made in clear view of the cops, and at least in my view, appeared to be entirely to appease them and not actually stop drinking.

This. All those cases completely fills the walk in and blocks all the kegs for distro, the kegs and lines that supply the tap room, and the hops for brews. Hopefully the space next door will have a bigger walk in.

They've grown too fast for their current space. Maybe they could rent a refrigerated space to distribute their kegs or cans out of but not both. Its hellish that they let their operational space determine their retail strategy. Used to be fun going to OH, releases are just shitshow after shitshow now.

Hopefully today will cause silent releases, not announcing whats released prior to saturday, or just weekday releases. I got there at 8:45 and at 10 when line started moving there were only about 40 people behind me. I'll take the chance that somehow they made tons of ACE and i can get them at 1, rather than wait 2 1/2 hours and probably not get any.

Whenever you have people lining 3-5 hours before a beer release and do nothing to change the atmosphere, it's only going to get more and more out of hand. I'm all for early morning drinking and the overwhelming majority of the people there are probably chill, but it's only a matter of time before one or two assholes in a crowd of 500 does something incredibly stupid.

What I was surprised about was the people that downed there drinks when they heard cops coming around, and then 10 minutes later opened another bottle.
