    Usually 200 to 300 cases, each with 6 4 pks, so beers should last 300 to 400 deep in line and could stretch considerably further

    Alarm woke me up at 5:20 and I thought for a half a minute about the ordeal I was signing myself up for and went back to sleep. Beyond the absurd schlep and mad scene of drunks and line cutters, there's that cancerous smell from the oil distributor. No thanks. Imagine how many cans they'd sell if the wait were minutes, not hours. For now, I'll stick with draft pours, thank you. Between running around the city for a single $7 Grimm and the OH line, it's clear that for now NYC's best breweries don't can -- they can't.

    How many cans they'd sell if the wait was minutes? Umm, they sell out; they can't sell any more than they do now.

    I'm saying pump up the volume to meet the demand. Two canning days instead of one. That way they wouldn't sell out Saturday morning and people like me could buy them later in the day or Sunday without wasting our weekend in line. It will happen eventually.

    I'm surprised the tenants on Centre St haven't called the cops before. I don't care if it's a public sidewalk, I'd be furious if I looked out my apt at 6am to see a bunch of drunks loitering and using my trashcans.

    Cops were checking out the line but nobody was leaving a mess and causing any nuisance. Really a non-issue today.

    Totally. Got here at 7 o'clock, and thought that it was going to be a four hour wait once they opened. Not the case at all. Out and on the road at 10:45.
