Hopefully this won't derail the thread much further, but here are some reminiscences of the early Liberty Ale and Our Special Ale:

Short, Dark & Handsome made it's return to the taproom today! Really enjoy that brew.

Excited to try something else by them. Hoping to get an imperial stout in cans this fall/winter!

Yeah, it's one of my favorite offerings by them. As good as it is on it's own, it seems like an awesome base beer to add coffee/vanilla/etc.

Anybody know if we can expect the same amount of each beer as usual or will the total amount be the same, but split three ways?

Driving up on Saturday from Philly to escape Popapalooza. I plan on grabbing some of the cans and taking back a couple growlers. I am not really sure what to expect as far as the release goes. This might be a silly question but this will be my first time visiting the brewery. Do people line up hours before they open or is it more relaxed? Hoping someone up there can help me out. Cheers!

in reality depends on who you ask.

but if you show up hourS before opening, be ready to stand alone for a while. about an hour before opening there will probably be some form of line, but at this point it has become clear that cans won't sell out to the initial line and typically last well into the afternoon if not days after the release. new beer being released this week, also 3 different cans being released means wild cards. if anything i would say beer will last longer since there is more to carry for the commuters and with 3 varieties, people will probably want a mix n match. who knows. time will tell, but if you aren't there when they open, you are not screwed. i am hoping to get there some point in the late afternoon or early evening...i need to be in and out (probably be with a kid), so going later on when there aren't lines. if you get there on saturday you should be able to get beer. if you are hyper nervous, then get there early.

I would say a little less of each since only so much can be canned in a day. But we'll know tomorrow after the canning.

Thanks for the info, I won't be able to make it there on Saturday until around 8 or 9pm so I'm hoping it'll last!

I've arrived at the brewery around noon for the previous two releases and had no problems. I think the only small issue a couple releases ago was that All Green Everything was in limited supply, so they did not last as long as Green Diamonds.

Indeed. Definitely need a day to spend at Heaven in Gowanus with you. Will be coming down soon to finish moving furniture, and that is thirsty work.

I don't recall OH ever having a food truck during a can release. Looks like Gaddy Lane will be serving breakfast sandwiches tomorrow morning.
