The Cascade may need a few weeks.

Cascade wasn't worth a 4 pack. Solid beer, but it was on the same level as Equinox. Citra on the other hand is great.
edit: not saying it's not an amazingly well made beer, but it kind of felt like a letdown compared to the other hops that were put in the spotlight.

bite your tongue. Equinox (hops) are the worst thing to ever happen to craft beer, and Cascade was a delightful showcase of a classic hop

    I agree. Thoroughly enjoying Cascade.

It's funny reading the reviews of equinox. That beer was hands down awful, but because its made by a respectae brewery no one could actually admit the beer sucked.

Huh. I thought Equinox was OK. For me, Galaxy was the worst, and Cascade is a notch above it. Hope it improves.

Have to say the comments here are hilarious re Equinox. I've had all the OH can releases, and do feel I am in the minority on this one. Don't get me wrong, I really like OH beer, and will continue to hit the releases. However, the single hop IPAs are the best products they are putting out IMO (sorry AGE and GD lovers), and the Equinox was no slouch. I would go so far as say is was top 4, and I have had all the OH beers. Not many will question Mosaic is the best, then it is a crapshoot of Nelson/Citra/Galaxy/Amarillo. Personally, I think the Equinox was better than everything except Mosaic and maybe the Amarillo or Nelson.

That said, I am excited for the next Equinox release because I can be hope
you guys wont be buying it up unless for trade fodder which is lame.

Great thing about this hobby is we all have our opinions and our favorites. But with all due respect to you, there is no way in hell that Equinox is top 4 and better than AGE and GD. I would need to go back and look at the list of OH beers, but Equinox would probably not make the top 20.

These single hop beers are getting a lot of exposure because these are the ones they are canning lately, but OH has made a lot of beer since they opened, it is not just only these single hop beers.

what the fuck are you talking about? I don't "buy up" Other Half beers for "trade fodder." Please don't act like you fucking know me, because you don't.

That's a bit dramatic. I think man buns are the worst thing but to each their own.

Laguinitas or someone puts out a nice hoppy equinox driven beer that I really enjoyed at Westside Hall.

Lagunitas Equinox which was a pale oat ale was absolutely fantastic. I definitely agree with you there.

    However, OH Equinox sucked.

So did the Sierra Nevada Single Hop Equinox (and I love SN, especially their recent release).

Sure, OH Equinox wasn't as good as seemingly everything else they brew, but let's broaden our perspective a bit (even if conversing on the internet is all about losing perspective). If my options are almost any other Other Half beer or Equinox, I'd probably take my chance on a random other OH beer. I wouldn't ever complain about drinking Equinox though. It is a decent beer and a solid IPA. It is only unfortunate for Equinox that they make so many other better beers.

I'm much happier to drink that over any IPA I can get at WF other than say... Captains Daughter (now) and some of the SingleCut bottles. Maybe a fresh Union Jack can has a bit better value, but I still like the experience of Equinox more.

I'm not trying to be an Other Half homer (though am maybe being), I just feel like it isn't bad. I've got more cans of Cascade to try, but at this point, unless craft beer history feel-good stories aid in the drinking process, I prefer Equinox to Cascade.

FWIW, I think Amarillo is the best single hop beer they've done to date.

BTW, if you love Other Half, next Friday, Oct. 2, there will be a charity raffle with a prize of a tour for four people of Other Half Brewery, plus two 64-oz growlers:

The raffle takes place at 61 Local, a Brooklyn bar that specializes in fresh local beers.

Settle down Beavis. You took my statement out of context, no need to get bent out of shape, I am not trynig to offend anyone. I was merely saying that the consensus is they don't like Equinox, so if OH put it out again there should be little in the way lines and if there was I would be skeptical of the intentions. I say this only because of the feverish dislike for Equinox because even the releases which are not 'favorites' of everyone will still be quite crowded. Why? Well as @RobNewton pointed out, most of us agree it is still way better than pretty everything to be had at the store regardless of what can it is. Do I think the Citra is great, no. Will I go to the can release and buy 3 4packs? You're damn straight.

I really need to get my hands on some Amarillo, only one of those I really wanted to try that I haven't.

    Excited for Simcoe next.

Has anyone heard if they plan on releasing anything on the weekend of OCT 9-11? I'm being sent to Newark for work and will gladly make the trip if there's something available.

They just did 3 cans for the first time this past weekend. Pure speculation but thinking 10/17 may be more likely. What do you think @Kanger
