Other Half Brewing

Uh..Anyway - I tried the Chardonnay barrel aged veldrijden and it was delicious.

They are going to bottle this in 750 ml. in a few weeks.

I also tried the whiskey aged Laaste Ronde. I'm not a whiskey fan at all, but the caramel flavor of the whiskey really shined through.

Just finished off another growler of citra. So goooood.

Yeah I was thinking about going to that.

 

If this was at 1pm would definitely go. But a 5pm start cuts into my wife's Saturday night. She is an incredible good sport when it comes to indulging my beer obsession. Maybe I can convince her to come with a dinner to follow in Manhattan.

 

Plenty of quality spots right along Smith Street to choose from. Even better.

 

BTW, this event is part of a larger event called Taste Talks.Sam interview and tasting is at Wythe Hotel.

 

Hey, I'm actually the guy interviewing Sam for the event. Nice to see that word of it has made its way on here. A thought: if you do come to the interview, you're just a short walk from Torst, where you could a) continue drinking really great beers and b) beginning at 6:30, eat a really, really great dinner at Luksus, in the back.

 

Other Half new beer alert!

 

Awesome, another new beer! I know where I will be on Saturday. I think now will hit tasting room then go to the event at the Wythe hotel.

 

Normally I'm pissed when breweries create names that just make no sense to me. In these, and many other OH cases, it just makes me smile.

 

I'm going to hit up the tap room around 5 today to try the new one and pick up a growler of something.

 

Please let us know what you think of it after, I'm thinking about heading there tomorrow night or Saturday afternoon to do the same thing.

Drinking a pint of the Southernhopalistic right now. Very hoppy nose though that fades a bit as it warm up. Fruity and a somewhat dry bitter flavor. A nice addition to their line up. ABV 7.5%

Growlers $14/$25. Must be a small batch.

 

Aw dude just shattered my bedstuy beer works growler. Oh well I wanted an other half growler anyway and I know everyone at bedstuy beer so it's all good. Ha.

 

Hope it was empty when u dropped it....

 

I didn't drop it, the guy behind the counter did - but yes it was empty! And they gave me a replacement for free so it all works out.
