Enjoy, I cant make it due to work, not a fan of waiting in lines, curious to see how early and how many will line up. Look forward to your report on the lines and the night.

Yeah I don't want to have to wait in line either. I wish they would have released 50 tickets and thus no one would have to guess if they can get in or not.

But I'm sure there will be some insanely rare beer that will make the wait worth it.

Brooklyn Brewery has done a lot of these ghost bottle events over the past couple years and I've missed each one for a variety of reasons. Add that to the fact they chose one of my favorite local breweries to host it, coupled with the fact that the F train is 30 secs from my office and I'm there.

Plus for those of you who haven't attended a meet and greet with Garrett before, it's well worth it. The man is brilliant and is quite the snappy dresser.

He's terrible at faking a German accent though.

I've been to lots of events with him at the brewery and even his lectures, but never met him personally.

I know he's huge fan of Japanese Craft beer like myself, so hopefully I can talk to him a little bit about that.

Great event. Garrett teed up 5 ghost bottles and Hand and Seal, all for free. Other Half taps started flowing at 8:30 as promised and Chardonnay Barrel V-Love made its appearance in bottles. Looks to be 120 bottle count.

You sure it's that small of a count? I thought they made a lot of V-Love when I talked to them a month or two ago. Matt said something like 1500 bottles.

What's the price on the barrel-aged V-Love? Don't believe I'm going to pony up $20 for a 12.7oz bottle again, especially after the Impy Stout.

For curiosity's sake - what were the ghost bottles?

Check out untappd, looks like a great bottle share in addition to Brooklyn and OH stuff.

BA V-Love is $15 for 750ml, limit 3. Someone else asked how much they made, which was answered by a gesture towards the boxes behind the bar. I counted 10 cases at 12 bottles a piece.

As for # of people, I guess around 40 after all was said and done, but that's a very rough count. Ghost bottles poured:

    - Gambit - Sorachi Ace aged in an open cognac puncheons with blackberries and whatever yeast floated by.
    - Croche Rouge Rose - really interesting project. This one is Local 1 aged in 2nd use bourbon barrels on lees collected from Red Hook winery (believe it was Pinot Noir grapes).
    - Gawain - Local 1 base in lees from Sauvignon Blanc grapes in 2nd or 3rd use bourbon barrels.
    - Wild Horse Porter - 100% brett fermented Porter which was isolated from Drie Fonteinen yeast.
    - K is for Kriek - will be released commercially next year. This bottle was the original concept brew from 2012. Local 2 base aged with 20 pounds of dried cherries per barrel for about 6 months. Finished off another couple months and then bottled for the last 2 years.
    - Hand & Seal - upcoming/current BQE release. Garrett's Barleywine aged in 4 Roses barrels.

On top of that, Other Half released three new beers:

    - In Absentia Luci - Imperial Stout. Reminded me of a rich brownie sundae without the ice cream and a lite cherry drizzle.

    - ESB - hopped up version of a classic...really craved fish and chips with this one.

    - Exp 06300 Stout - hopped up stout. Not too chalky, more chocolate and bitter hops.

Yeah I should have picked up a bottle of the VBA, but I have had it on tap. First time trying the Nice Life and it was delicious.

My boy brought the bottles of Mexican Honey and Day Break to the party. Good stuff. Garret never had either and enjoyed them both.

Also much thanks to the guy who poured me a taste of Alchemist Focal Banger and the Crusher. Amazing stuff.

Great event. I had a good time!

They may have kegged some of it. But Ya, that's probably a better question asked when everyone is sober.
