Confirmed. It kicked while I was waiting for my growler fill on Saturday. No current plans for a new batch.

It still should be at Mission Dolores. For how much longer, I don't know...

Please do not park in the McDonald's parking lot. It can only cause trouble for yourself and the brewery if it keeps being done. Now if you go into McDonalds and enjoy an egg mcmuffin and some hashbrowns before you walk across to the brewery, then I don't see that being a problem. But don't park in their and just get out and walk into the brewery.

There is plenty of parking in the area. You might have to drive around for a bit but you will find one. As you said, you find a spot right on the block. There is usually parking right on the block when I drive in. This Saturday was the first time I had to park about a 1/2 mile away.

My brown paper bag that they gave me to carry the beer actually snapped about 3 blocks from my car. It must have been a funny seen seeing someone trying to juggle 5 four-packs at 11am in the morning.

    I agree on the parking.

What time did you leave OH on Saturday ? I came walking down from the subway at about 12:15 or so and was walking on Smith Street and passed someone holding a bag of what I thought could be OH cans. A minute later I looked back and sure enough their bag broke and they were picking up cans off the street. Not sure if that was you or not.

Still unclear on Sunday - if I get there at 11 AM, will I be able to get a pint? Or do NYC blue laws prohibit that until noon?

Haha yea that was definitely me if you were walking on Smith. I left a little after 12, not sure of the exact time.

Lesson learned. Next time I bring a backpack.

Yep. The law was changed a few years back to allow alcohol to be sold after 8AM on Sundays

I'm thinking about finally making the trip out to OH this Sunday. Whats the best time to get there with a decent line at opening? Also do they allow bottle shares for opening lines?

please don't show up early enough to have time for a bottle share in line. we don't need to make these releases (more of) a shitshow. Also, they have generally allowed you to pop bottles in the tap room once you're inside. The general rule is that if you are there by early afternoon you should be fine on cans. Last weekend I showed up at 11, filled growlers, got a couple pints, and then got my cans without hassle or a line before I left at ~12:15. Yes, there are 2 releases on sunday, but both are 200+ cases, so they should last long enough to not have to wake up at dawn and sit in line all day.

Well, they are a business that sells their own beer, so don't think bringing bottles to share in a line is a good idea. Also, if there is a line before opening it will be outside, you can't drink beer on the streets of NYC.

My suggestion if you go is support OH by drinking their beer while you are there.

I would say if you're not familiar with the OH crew, don't bring bottles to share. People usually only bring bottles to OH to share with the crew.

Do people generally assume it's cool to bring bottles of beer to places and open them?

Unless waiting in lines is really just the kind of thing you like to do on a Sunday morning there's no need whatsoever to stand in line for this. If prior releases are any barometer there will be a multi-hour period once the rush dies down where you can waltz in to a relatively quiet tap room, have a couple pints, grab your cans and go with absolutely no muss or fuss, and not wait on any line longer than the maybe 2 ppl waiting at the bar.

Its not cool, they are running a business there. Would it be cool to bring for someone to bring their own food to a restaurant?

As Kanger said, if you know the crew and do a cool thing by bringing them beer and they decide to pour it, that is cool. But people bringing their own bottles and popping them in the tap room not cool at all.

Like others have said, lets do our part in not turning OH into a shitshow, if it does, someone is going to take notice and it will have a negative impact on all of us.

People should show up at the brewery at a normal time, buy a reasonable amount of beer, knock some back while they are there and enjoy themselves. No reason to be camping on the sidewalk. BTW, the beers they have been canning are beers for the most part that have been on tap regularly at the tap room since last year, I never hear people talking about lining up for growler fills or pints of Green Diamonds or AGE.

    Ok, rant over !

PS. Not directed at you Darwin, hope to see you soon again!

I never bring another beer into an establishment that sells beer unless they say its ok and I share with the employees.

I guess I should qualify my statement a bit--the only time I brought out bottles at OH was because I had done a trade beforehand and had them on me, and someone who was sharing bottles offered me a pour of one, so I then asked the guys behind the bar if I could pop something as well, noting that they would of course get a pour, and then said yes and put in in the fridge. I agree it's a real shitty move to open your own bottles at another drinking establishment

So I'm the guy that brought bottles last week, so I can see where the idea may be thought of as OK. I don't do it that often, but when I do I make sure to ask whoever is working if it's cool to open them. I haven't run into a situation where it wasn't OK, but when (and if, I guess....sigh....) the crowd gets too unwieldy inside BOTH rooms, I can see it being a problem.

I don't want to completely shut you down @Bizoneill, so maybe bring a single bottle with you to share. Run it by the crew working and worse comes to worst, you only have to lug 1 bottle back with your cans to CT.

To the time question, I'm hoping to get there about 11. I'm also hoping that the early rush has all but disappeared by then... I'd like to actually sit down and have a delicious weekend AM beer. Nothing like setting a good example for my daughter.
