Agreed, tried this on tap today and wasn’t a huge fan. Was hoping for a bit more.

 

Thankful I didn't grab a 4-pack of it. I was curious, but knew that one can would be more than enough for me.

 

Over/under on these beers making it until 8pm? Trying to sort out if I should divert plans.

 

Can we play the game of what $150 can get you on NYE?

1. Three course dinner with live music and drinks at the place @yossle likes
2. A hotel room in times square split with 7 other buddies and a direct view of the ball drop
3. Grilled cheese and beer with a view of cars driving overhead on the BQE
4. ???

 

With some friends, a keg or two getting shitfaced in the cold on a Brooklyn rooftop with a view of Manhattan without having to hang out with a bunch of fucking obligate neckbeards being blasted in the face with one of 481 recent new glasses to buy.

Unless your friends are neckbeards, of course.

 

Man, there are gonna be some fuckin wasted people at that party. People aren't gonna make midnight.

 

If they are producing as much as they did for the weekday Thanksgiving release- then 100% will be out by even 5-6pm

 

It's going to be amateur hour for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they did 12oz pours until 10:30 and only 4oz pours after that.

And to think of the amount of out of towners who will probably drove...

Oh, the drunks will be out in droves so maybe autocorrect knows something's up.

 

So much bitterness over this party. If you don't want to go, don't. I don't like standing in line at 6am for cans, so I don't. I also don't complain about not getting what I want, or that 4 packs are $20. I make a value judgment and either buy or don't.

Will complaining about complaining become the theme of 2018 now that we've exhausted all other things to complain about?

 

Oh, I'm sure they'll come up with something, as just when everyone here was seemingly happy about the mid-week releases pre-Christmas, they drop the $150 party bomb. In all seriousness, their marketing team does a fantastic job ensuring OH is always being talked about.

 

$150 can get you a 7 course tasting menu and a top shelf open bar with live music and a pretty good restaurant in NJ.

it can also buy a big group of friends a decent amount of food and beer to split in the comfort of someone's house for NYE and avoid all of the rookie's at the bar.. basically my plans

but again - I give them a ton of props for not only getting that money per ticket but throwing a cool event. I am sure they have some tricks up their sleeves to give some extra value and VIP treatment to those who attend.
