Other Half December 2017

Well now that we know what's up for the last week of 2017, here are my top OH beers released this year:

1. DDH Mosaic Daydream/DDH Space Daydream (tied)
3. All Infinity Everything
4. Triple Cream
5. DDH Double Citra Daydream
6. DDH Citra + Galaxy
7. DDH Mylar Daydream
8. Smoke Screens and Oils Slicks with Vanilla, Coconut, and Coffee
9. Fully Loaded Baked Potato
10. Twice Baked Potato

 

Doesn't OH typically do canning runs on Monday? If so, I'd imagine if there is a midweek drop it'd be Thursday. Would be nice if they could split up those 5 beers between Thursday and Friday if possible (assuming all 5 end up in cans).

 

For me 3rd Anniversary was head and shoulders above the rest. Then there are about a dozen that are interchangeable for second place in both taste and quality which I'd be damned if I could name in a blind taste test.

 

This Saturday, I will be in the NYC area. Never been to OH before, how much of a shit show should I expect?

 

It'll be really busy throughout the day, but since they're releasing 4 different beers I have a feeling one or more of the cans should last a few hours past the line.

If you just want draft beers or growlers and want to avoid a total madhouse, I'd suggest waiting until at least like 4-5 or show up.

If you want a guarantee to get all the cans, you'll have to get there by 9, but since they're releasing 4 different cans this week I'd imagine at least one will last until 1-2 PM.

 

Excited to see 3x Cream again... we think there's a shot of a mid-week DDH DMDD?

 

I feel great pity for anyone who missed out on 3rd Anniversary (easily my favorite this year, too) based on these best of lists so far.

That being said, 3rd Anni was fantastic, definitively top 3 for me.

 

I didn’t miss out, I just completely blanked on it when I wrote my list. It was very good.

 

Same, I only had two cans of Triple Cream the first time around so looking forward to getting more.

And would be great to do a comparison between Mosaic Daydream and Space Daydream, given that they are my two favorite OH Beers. Gonna be a good week.

 

Looks like a new beer is on tap, Green City.

 

Better bundle up for this one. It will likely be between 5-10 degrees out on Saturday morning.

 

Anyone know if DDH Space Daydream is on for fills? It's not on site but seeing a bunch of check ins.

 

DDH DDMD drops tomorrow. Will definitely be there immediately after work.

 

Planning on swinging by the taproom tomorrow - am I shit out of luck if the only growlers I bring are the flip top 32 oz growlers that Tired Hands uses, and the 64oz flip top Monkish style growlers?

Buy cans.

 

They will not fill flip top growlers of any kind. However, if that's all you have, they don't charge too much for their own.

 

If I shoot over from Manhattan and get there a few minutes before 3 should there be a big line, or no since it's a mid-week release? I can take a late "lunch break" from work, but don't want to be away for too long, if possible.
