Lincoln Park still has most OH stuff left. The only one I know missing was DDH Mylar Bags.

    Some call it "Splash Distro".

I get it. But it’s annoying for the market. If you want to be dealt a hand into the game then sit down and anti up. All of these non committal entries in the market are not a good thing in the long run. It’s just a quick gut punch to people actually committed to selling beer in the market every few months.

As of Saturday afternoon there was barely any left at STC.

Both triples were drinking really well this weekend. Not a sweet mess or a quick fall off like what I feel like we often get here with 10% hoppy beers

They hold up incredibly well. My OH guy sends me a ton of stuff, and most times it is at least 3 weeks old. I Always enjoy them very much! Never seem crazy malty...and this goes for all of them, and not just the triples.

I see the point here but just don't agree with it. It's not Other Half's responsibility to worry about the inventory of hazy IPAs turning over at Hop Butcher, Pipeworks, Hubbard's Cave, Marz, Energy City, Alarmist, or whoever else makes hazy IPAs in Chicago. They are a for-profit business and if they want to test the waters in Chicago (or anywhere else) via this mechanism, they should be allowed to.

Shots fired! All those Chicago brewers should get together and drop a few truckloads in Brooklyn and the other Other Half city.

They should. Although, doesn’t Half Acre and Pipeworks already distribute there? As for Hop Butcher, Marz and Hubbard’s Cave, I doubt they have the same name recognition and drive FOMO the way Other Half does (MoRE might be the lone exception... maybe). Those breweries’ beers priced at $20/4-pack might turd it up on shelves for quite some time.

I would put OH up there as a brewery that does one thing pretty well, and that’s about it.

Grimm is in an entirely different league. I enjoyed their IPAs much more than OH, and the fact that they are able to make fantastic beers that aren’t IPAs was appreciated as well.

Definitely pick Grimm if here’s a choice.

    Ooof that's a tough one

For me if you took OH's location (which is a lot more convenient for me; I'm not trying to claim Hamilton Avenue is an area of great natural beauty), ownership, crew, music choice and core competency beers (single hop doubles, dual hop doubles, hop showers, mylar, short dark, anni beers and a few others - drop the crunchee/mmmmm/pastries), and added in the Grimm other beers - that would be the perfect combo

It’s not the brewery I rant about. It’s the distributors.

Binny's Grand still had several cases of two different OH IPAs sitting out yesterday. Don't remember which ones though. Lots of Juicy Bits too.

Totally. Grimm being near Robertas is a big plus though.

The fact OH had wine that wasn’t $15/glass was nice also for my non-beer friends.
