How quick do we think the silent release will go?

If they were going for an oxidized look, smell and taste, they really nailed it. Or my can is oxidized which is hard to imagine.

Probably not oxidized. Most pictures on untappd look brownish

6th ave and 19th st? I’ve been there with the kids on saturdays doing the exact same thing!

Am I the only one that thinks Trillium just completely fell off since expanding? Truthfully I haven’t been impressed with anything they’ve done, minus select stouts, in well over a year. It’s like once they went to cans they forgot how to brew a proper juicy IPA. It makes me appreciate the quality of how OH scaled up that much more. If anything OH has gotten better over that same time frame.

I may have to agree. I prefer IPA's in cans way more than bottles, however for some reason when Trillium had their pale ales and IPA's in the bombers, I thought they were much better. I wasn't sure if my taste just changed a bit, or if there was actually a difference in quality.

not sure I've had Trillium pre-expansion, but what I've had has always been very good... it's such a familiar refrain.. hear the same about Tree House all the time... I think its largely psychological.

I'd be interested to know, but I'd have to guess OH's production, while significantly up over the last few years, is still a fraction of Trillium's, no?

Some refer to it as "the river" now. Pump up that property value, ya know.

Funny to see the Carton thread (with Two Roads brewing a number of things for them now) and the same conversation.
Of course there is also "Green Power has never been the same since the first!" (melon, etc). Sadly, with the changes that happen over 2-3 months in any of these IPAs there is no way to have a blinded taste test (such as those where "wine aficionados" are tricked into loving table wine as if it were a $100 bottle, or thinking a white wine tastes like a classic red just due to food dye).
I would be shocked if, truly, there were massive differences in taste and quality from any of these level of brewers, even over time, for long standing recipes.
Tastes change, moods change, and there is always nostalgia. I await the complaints at the OH 5 yr that the rebrewed 4th anniversary is not nearly as good as the original and totally was not worth being in line at midnight for in 25 degree weather.

I've only ever had Trillium cans and recall thinking at the time that it was one of the best IPA's I'd ever had. I also felt that way about Lambo Door first time I had it. I'm firmly in the tastes change camp.

I had tried 10 or trilliums in bottles before cans and thought that they were better. One district memory I have is opening a bomber of ddh fort point and thinking it was one of the more enjoyable beers I ever drank. Next time i had it is when I bought a case of cans passing through Boston a year later. I wasn’t angry I had to drink a case of them but not one touched that bomber I had.

The cashmere + galaxy goes down like a led starship, very solid... The half and halfs with Galaxy are always good.

Saw the VIP Teku while checking out some untappd ratings. Honestly I think it's extremely ugly and poorly done. If I was paying $300 for a ticket I would be a little annoyed.

Speaking of Trillium, my brother got me a four pack of their Streets anniversary, but he wasn't able to give them to me until about a month after they were canned. It was extremely oxidized, and had to pour them all out. Luckily had traded for a single can weeks earlier and it was amazing (Not as good as OH 4th Anni though).
