Rochester release yesterday was absolutely nuts. The other half employee I spoke with said they totally underestimated the Rochester beer scene and that this was the second longest line they've had for ANY release ever. They only brought 400 cases and they were forced
To reduce allotments to 1 4 pack per
Variety per person to Try and allow everyone to get something. 30 kegs also gone by mid afternoon.

Apparently they are planning another Rochester release very soon and bringing 800+ cases next time. Pretty excited my home town did one of my favorite breweries right and impressed the hell out of them.

Used to date a girl who's family was from Rochester. Tap and Mallet is a great craft bar, also enjoyed the stuff I had from Swiftwater and Prison City a few times I was up there. Not surprised at all by the turn out, definitely seemed like the craft beer market is big up there from the few times I visited. Also really enjoyed visiting Abandon Brewing on my up, really nice location overlooking the lake to throw a couple back.

Maybe it needs a week or two. I am sipping it right this moment and enjoyed the back 9 of the can over the front. Idaho 7 received very few mentions here and I thought it was the best of the 2/10 release. On a side note, got to OH at 10am yesterday, waited about 30-40 mins and got everything. Finally had Green Power and Green In Your Area in the tap room, and they were both top notch. All of these beers taste like screwdriver IPAs to me with subtle variations to each but that doesn’t stop me from disrupting my entire weekend to procure them.

I'll admit, it was a really weird time of my life. #humblebrag

I know a date is a type of fruit, but is a girl a type of beer?

My home town as well (live in Queens now)...but my home friends have been raving about the beer scene there for a lil while now. Good to hear about the great turnout

As a former Rochester native, and new New Yorker, not at all surprised by the turnout. The beer scene in Rochester is massive, they have a very active FB group (FCBAA) with almost 7000 members.

It was a great day at the Rochester release. The OH representatives did a great job. I got in the door at 10:03 for the 10am release and the 4th anniversary was already kicked. Tap and Mallet staff and OH staff did a great job. Looking forward to the next release!

How is that even possible? How many people could have gotten inside ahead of you and gotten pours in just 3 minutes? How big was the keg? Or are you talking cans? Still doesn't seem plausible unless it was a very small number of cases.

It was on draft. Not sure if it was a half barrel or a sixtel. Many people skipped the can line and went inside and got full pours of it. The event was great. Tons of great options. I started with the third anniversary and the monkish collab.

If Other Half keeps this momentum going I'm going to need a paracentesis come June.
