Awesome stuff. Very eager to visit, both to see the city and some new breweries.

Cheers and thanks for the answers and well wishes!

    Hey all -

I visited yesterday and picked up a growler to fly home with. Has anyone done before and had any issues? The seal seemed good with their counter pressure system.

    Thanks!

if you have the time, Three's Brewing is close by OH and usually has a solid tap list, and Grimm recently opened their place in Williamsburg..both are worth checking out

I've traveled cross the US w/ growlers w/o incident..not sure how easy it will be internationally but you should be OK

Deal. I appreciate the help. I'm not sure how much time we'll have, as the people I'm with may not be okay with doing a beer tour all day Saturday. Plus I can't drink all day with the marathon the day following.

I do want to try Grimm's pilsner. I hear good things. Not enough good pilsners floating out there.

I'd be more concerned with the glass than the pressure of the vessel. Wrapping it up nicely and keeping it away from the edges of the bag would protect it nicely.

I don't fill growlers often, but I haven't had issues traveling with them when I do.

Great, thanks. I've flown with flip tops, no problem. I just wasn't sure about this screw top.

Late to the party but Short Dark & Wired is fantastic. New formulation is on point!

This. Though I cracked a can of PB SD&H before and was mildly underwhelmed with the memory of SD&W in my head. I found the latter to be better by leaps and bounds.

Also, this batch of Space Hallucinations is ridiculous.

Why not go TNG, and just replicate my DDH Romulan Ale collab with the Klingon Empire aged in blood wine barrels.

The bourbon barreled stout is great;very complex but can taste more or less all the adjuncts (the various nuts basically blend together).

I'd suggest wrapping some electrical tape around the screw top just to be safe.

Yes, and also put in a kitchen garbage bag tied up.

And, just to be safe, make sure to wrap some magnetic tape around is so you can use the superconductive magnets built into your suitcase to levitate the growler in perfect suspension to avoid it hitting anything. @RobNewton, that math works right?

By far the the safest way, is to just pour it into several balloons, ingest them and pass it at his destination. Cant say I've personally done this before....well at least with beer.

Ha-thanks for all the suggestions. I went with wrapping it in a couple shirts and then inside a garbage bag from my hotel room since I didn’t have access to balloons, magnets or tape. It did leak a little bit but no more than maybe 1/2oz and still tasted fantastic tonight. Cheers!

@crowlcrowlcrowl was getting my haircut yesterday. The lady cutting my hair told me her husband works at prime meats - they’ve delayed closing until after the holidays
