I also would like to know.

I just took a mere 10 days off OH and lost 5 lbs with no other change. True story.

I've seen numbers on some adjunct stouts with Lactose in it hitting 1k for a pounder. I imagine an adjunct IPA somewhere a little less than that

800 may be pushing it (although I don't think that's the case for beers like Triple Mosaic Daydream)

Definitely at least 500-600 calories easily

    I can absolutely believe that.

Jeez. My MapMyRun app tells me I’m burning around 500 calories from a four mile run. It’s been my way of telling myself at least I just cancelled out those IPAs from last night. Guess I better start training for a half marathon now.

I generally have a couple cans when I drink. So my choice each day is don't drink or do drink and run 8-10 miles - and my weight stays very even....

And anyway guys - rather than speculate - everyone send $10 to this Venmo handle:

    @hazegramps69

And @jrnyc is going to buy this kit and run a proper analysis

Other Half will be transitioning from a two vessel 15 barrel Global Stainless brewhouse to a four vessel 30 barrel Premiere Stainless brewhouse this December and will produce 15,000 barrels in 2018. In addition to the Brooklyn location, Other Half will be opening a second location in Rochester, New York in early 2019...per ProBrewer

My mom loves OH beer (DDH Ain't Nothin Nice is her favorite) and since I told her a little while ago that most were probably in the 300-500 calorie range she is afraid to drink them when I bring them over

Considering an actual 16oz milkshake from a fast food place is roughly 700 calories, I’d imagine the regular DIPAs are around 275-325/can and the ‘tosed stuff is probably 300-350/can.

FWIW I use the Lose It app and it lists the OH collab Blowin' up the Spot at 410 cal per can. I also took a little less than 2 weeks off from drinking and dropped 5 pounds without any other change. Damn this "hobby".

Excessive exercise to combat the excessive drinking is my strategy too. I take things a bit further though, as I made the choice to cut dairy and breads and grains out of my diet to compensate for the beer I drink. Basically I miss out on a lot of good food so I can drink beer.

I know it's not popular, but this calorie discussion reminds me why the lack of 12oz or even smaller packaging, in craft beer anyway, is frustrating.

Appreciate all the help. Only underscoring my need to drink less beer. If anyone is interested in coming along for the ride, I'm gonna start by doing no more beer on weekdays. Feels like a good start

I can't imagine the mess I'd be in now if these beers were around when I was 26.

Don't worry, as you alluded, it'll happen eventually unless you make consistent lifestyle changes.

I've always had a beast of a metabolism. I've been over 6' since 8th grade never weighed more than 150-160ish even through college. Drank a ton in college, lots of craft too (Magic Hat, Rogue, DFH, etc....good stuff in 2008) and ate shitty meal plan food as well as delivery and shit like that. Never really worked out aside from walking to class, occasional floor hockey or soccer game. I was a comp sci major so lots of sitting and video games.

Fast forward. I'm currently 31. I'm 6'3" and 210lbs. Still drinking great beer, still working with computers, still playing video games, still not eating that great. I'm actually surprised I'm not more overweight than currently I am (BMI of 26 is right on the "overweight" threshold).

Anyway, TL;DR my metabolism is finally sputtering out. Time to stop being a lazy lard ass and work the fuck out along with all the other animals at the gym before I'm old and obese.

    Yes, this.

Sometimes I wonder the same. "If I didn't get into craft so much maybe I'd have a healthier weight" but then I realized I'd probably just be drinking more shitty beer and still being a sloth. I guess the answer is somewhere in the middle. Don't be so god damn sedentary (easy to do when you work with PCs all day) and don't drink so much deliciousness.

@guinness77 I need to find a soccer team or some shit. Gyms just aren't for me (sooooooo borrinnggggg)

It's about 20 miles a week, not a fuck ton or even a buttload. And I have gone 6-9 months with no exercise and not tons of difference.
In all seriousness, people have told me my whole life your metabolism slows down but it hasn't happened for me. I think each person has their own metabolism and it is really complicated and some people's may really slow down but not sure it always does, as that may be personal too.
