Been a while for AGE. Mid-week no less.

 

Last batch was around July and was also midweek. It was killer btw.

 

So what's changed? I know that they have the upstate location, but I don't think it's producing yet, right? This seems like a huge output increase, yet I don't think there has been any updates about them increasing the size of their hot/cold sides - maybe I missed something?

Def. Not complaining though, good to know that I can do a spur of the moment after work trip and still have a nice selection of cans to go .

 

Cracked open a Space Daydream last night. Very very good. Lactose provides a nice canvas for the Galaxy to shine. Smooths out some rough edges but still has that signature Galaxy spicy bite. Awesome pineapple flavor

I have still have the double citra and triple mosaic. From what I've remembered in my tastings this past year, Mosaic has been the best hop for the Daydream series

 

Fair enough. I guess 7/2 was basically a holiday weekend for me so I didn't consider it midweek and wasn't here to get any, but glad to hear it was good.

 

Took the tour last week, because why not when you have off on a Wednesday. Not sure if this has changed, but they said that they're basically brewing 24/7 now. Wonder if that has to do with increased output. Can't imagine how much it's going to grow when they switch their 15bbl brew system to the bigger ones.

 

I wonder if we'll ever see an Other Half General Store type place when cans start sticking around the taproom for a little too long. Doesn't really make sense right now, but production is only going to go up. I feel like a store in Manhattan would be a huge hit.

 

I could definitely see an outpost, like the one Threes has in Greenpoint, working out pretty well.

 

OH thread ideas have a funny way of becoming reality. But I think being able to find OH beer in stores around the city would be better than one dedicated store somewhere in Manhattan.

Now, if we're talking another OH outpost, that should happen in the BX.

 

Sure, NYC distribution would probably be better from a customer perspective besides the obvious downsides (price, freshness, storage, etc), but a store of sorts seems more realistic to me seeing how they do business.

They've said they're going to be brewing at both of the new locations right? I don't actually envision any sort of NYC expansion beyond the taproom in the near future, but it would be cool.

 

Anyone there at the moment that can report on what cans they have for sale? They haven’t done an insta update today

I usually check the menu on Untappd, they've been updating it pretty much every day, and multiple times a day, for a while.

 

Was at the taproom this weekend catching up with one of the regular bartenders who my wife and I are friendly with. He said that not only is Rochester and DC in the works, but they are seriously looking into a location in Cali. I certainly have mixed feelings on this. Seems like they are on a Stone like expansion pace, minus the retail distribution.

 

The more people that can get their hands on Other Half, the better.

Not mad about this at all. In my opinion, they are making the best IPAs in the country next to Treehouse. The quality of their beers can withstand the test of expansion and new markets .

 

The fact that they can do this, and it's all self-funded, is pretty damn impressive.
