Yeah, it used to be a pineapple tropical fruit bomb, now I get a weird oregano like flavor from a lot of their Mosaic beers. With that said, I find OH gets herbal/floral notes in their single hops that other brewers don't.

Is coconut replacing lactose in this fruit dream or is the presence of lactose now just unsaid?

I would think there's no lactose. Plenty of people are lactose intolerant. It's one of those ingredients that you can't use without letting people know it's there.

Lactose has been used in a lot of their beers without notation actually. 4th Anniversary; for example, had a 'tose dose.

Ah, I figured lactose and nuts were stuff that had to be mentioned. TIL.

i think this is an issue with the more recent 2017 crops of mosaic hops. I know Monkish has said that they generally steer clear of mosaic - unless it's older mosaic.

it's definitely a solid hop when you play to it's strengths - Kane's collab with Sand City called Blueberry Island which was straight mosaic and conditioned on blueberries and some vanilla was very good and displayed the (obvious) blueberry quality of Mosaic very well. It's also tough to beat the combo of Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy as well.

Interesting - and seems like OH made a strong forward commitment to the stuff

Lactose is in best of my knowledge. There is "mmmm...fruit" with no lactose and "mmm fruit dream" with lactose.

Depending on the ingredients and level of alcohol, would not be surprised if they start off at 325-350 per.

    At the very least.

If it's a daydream, forget about it. Probably looking at around 800 cal per can.

Wait, what? Please show your work with this calculation. Not that I don’t believe you. I just may have to rethink my drinking habits if true.

I think when we had this conversation before we were in the 300-700 range (going from the completely straightforward IPA thru to the tosed up TIPA)

I think that’s probably the case for food (esp for nuts), but not for alcohol. I’m not sure that beer needs anything besides the government warning about pregnancy and operating machinery.
