The amount of cans available + no line is pretty remarkable and awesome.

Agreed, huge change from even 6 months ago.

That being said, am I the only one not excited by any of the beers released today?

I love the dual hops so that one interests me but maybe not quite enough to make the trip out.

As in the threes thread, we’ve hit peak jadedness

They have like 8 different beers. Ranging from peak tose hype to OG DMD to fruity stuff. No line. What more can you ask for?

Same. I’ll grab the dual just because I can and I’m bored.

True - Dual hops have been very good, with a few exceptions. I would have been interested in the new Double Nelson but their All Nelson got mediocre reviews so hesitant to trust it (maybe odd logic but makes the trip less likely for me)

Not jaded, just sharing thoughts on making a 2-hour round trip. Not every beer is great that comes from them so have to be choosy when trips are few and far between. I went the other night so got the best ones currently on the list. Just not over the threshold for making another trip.

I liked ANE but I feel like Nelson is a divisive hop, its really a love it or hate it flavor profile. That being said I'm drinking a Cellarmaker Double Mt. Nelson and its way way better.

There’s a lot of room to scale back from the hype of recent days before reaching the point of jadedness.

I think I’ve always been pretty critical of OH’s approach to heavy social media marketing and a seeming lack of respect for locals (I mean the actual people living on Centre/Garnet - not people like us who live nearby that want hassle free access to their beer). So by no means a fanboy. But if you look at what’s available today, this is pretty close to the exact kind of line up (albeit double the amount of beers) that 6-12 months ago would have drawn an enormous line that would have had us keepitreallocalboiz (the antithesis of hazeboiz) foaming at the mouth. But now that it’s easily accessible and not an inconvenience to the local folks, it’s underwhelming to people? Just kind of makes the keepitreallocalboiz seem as FOMO-oriented as the hazeboiz. Not having a go - I agree with almost all your posts. But just my 2 pennies.

I mean we're clearly living in the golden age now given that we can sit on the ivory tower that is BA and sneer about how the current 8 can offering isn't up to our standards. And to think a year ago we'd be shaking the alms cup just to get a 4pk of anything.

So.. you guys happen to remember all the hubbub when forever simcoe didn’t taste like forever simcoe last year? It wasn’t bad, just muted and maltier? This batch of space diamonds tastes almost exactly like that.

Just peak brewery. I can get sip of sunshine at my local deli. Beer Bubble Bursting is great for the consumer.

I would love to know the backstory that took you from otherhalfinnercircleparttimeemployeeboi to sakeboi

Either way the whole craft bubble stuff I think is overplayed. It’s been talked about ever since I joined BA. I just see it more that breweries (that aren’t named HF or RR) have a very short (sub 3 year) stint at the top.

I stopped by OH yesterday for a 4pack of DMD and the first thing I thought to myself as I paid was “Should I tip for this?”

Idk I think OH, Trillium, and Treehouse are still insanely sought after they've just hit the point where they can get beer to people without it being a shitshow. I think the hype breweries have matured gracefully, with a few exceptions (looking at you Monkish), where the quality is still really high but the availability is much much higher than it used to be. The fact that you can go to TH, OH, Trillium and buy like 8-9 case of beer with minimal lines now was a fantasy for most of these breweries even just 1 or so years ago. I think people will still be hyping up these breweries for years to come, especially now that OH is kinda making a power play in the Atlantic region.

Oh yea side note, the Mmm Fruit Dream is really good shit, hope they can it soon.

I wasn't a part time employee, I was Canning and Bottling Manager. And that "transfer from beer to sake" discussion would have to be offline since I don't like burning bridges. ( but do check out http://sakebrooklyn.com/ )

The beer bubble bursting is not an apocalyptic event, just a dramatic shift in the way the market has to conduct business.
