Otherside Closing... Again? For real?

Wasn't it only a temporary thing that kept them open last time?

 

It says the same thing on their Facebook page, posted an hour ago. "Closing in 26 days".

 

Now I'm starting to wonder if this is all just a marketing ploy. "Hey everyone, we're closing really soon so, you better come on down and patronize us because we all know that there aren't many overpriced bars to choose from anymore!"

 

ever since they "re-opened" has anyone noticed a spike in their prices pretty considerably? what were 5 dollar beers a few months ago jumped up to 6.50-7.50 range, what gives.

 

I love a good conspiracy theory but this is just ridiculous.

 

I thought that the $5 beers was a special that happened about twice a year, usually Jan or Feb and some other month.

Sadly, we are definitely closing.

The $5 beers are done each January.

There is no marketing ploy. In fact, 25 people are losing their jobs. If you think we would try to manipulate our closing date to sell a few more beers, well, you're an idiot.

Very unfortunate, however I imagine there will be some fantastic beers being put on tap over the next few weeks. I will make the most of the Otherside while it's around - tasty beers, nachos and burritos!

 

Going to the redsox opener next Friday...will hit the OS one last time pre-game.

Always knew what u were getting when u go to the OS: a hipster paradise with flighty servers, but never bad service or attitude if u played along. Will miss the place.

 

Grabbed an Allagash Old HLT here last night. I've appreciated how regularly they've had sours on tap.

 

This is a major bummer. I was so relieved when the Otherside got its reprieve--I didn't think this day would be back so soon. I'll need to get back over there for one last chicken salad sandwich and some beer before the end.

 

This just plain sucks. I've had some of the best times sitting on that deck, drinking good beer in the sun, and the food was always great. Love the waitstaff too. The lack of pretension and always-excellent beer selection made it one of my favorite destinations. I will definitely get there before closing.

One less real beer bar for Boston.
