Just saw the other thread about the new brewery around Ottawa. Looks pretty nice, but it's not yet in service. Where should I go to grab a good beer around Ottawa?

    Thanx!

Biggest selection of bottles and taps: Pub Italia. Also try l'Autre Oeuil in Aylmer.
Brewpubs: Big Rig, Clocktower, Mill Street, Brasseurs du Temps,
Classy: the Manx, the Black Tomato.
All of these places have websites. Check 'em out for details on address, hours, menu, etc.

    Thank you Conrad,

And about quality, what is really shining amongst these brewpubs? Is the law allowing them to sell bottle beer at the bar, or growlers in Ontario?

Brasseurs du Temps is easily the best. I don't think they sell out of there though. I'd stop by the Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau. They have some of BDT's selection in bottles and a ton of other stuff from Quebec.

Neither of the above mentioned Beer Bros or Wellington. Without a doubt the two most exciting beer spots in the city at the moment. Pricey, but you can skip the food. They're also bound to have some of the more exciting Ontario creations on cask, whereas Black Tomato and The Manx have standard Ontario craft offerings and BDT's lineup is more miss than hit, they really don't hold a candle to anything you have in Montreal.

That would be Wellington Gastropub and Brother's Beer Bistro.

Since I'm from quebec, I easily get access from stuff from Quebec  I find there's always a lot of residual sugar in BDT stuff, which annoys me...

Arrow & Loon is a great spot too, along with The Cheshire Cat.

If you don't already know about it, you should stop at Beau's along the way, it's a 10 minute detour, first exit when leaving Quebec.
