Long trail is also owned by said equity firm and has been for some time.

You gotta throw Over Easy in the conversation as well. I prefer it over Backseat, it's got a ton of hop flavor but more sessionable for the warm weather.

Otter Creek brews are a staple in my fridge year round. I visited Otter Creek and met Mike Gerhart about 2 years ago. At the time he had yet to make his imprint as Otter Creek was still producing their old line up. Since that time it appears they have really let him do his thing and I think we can all agree he has been killing it since. Coolest thing about that visit was that he shared a pull of what ended up becoming Citra Mantra from a bright tank and let my buddies and I try it, prior to it being released. Great brewer and a real chill guy.

I'd long since given up on OC, but sounds like they've really upped their game. This changes my whole outlook, time to head to the store...

Big fan of Otter Creek. Overgrown and Citra Mantra are my favorites. But all the others I've tried have been real good.

Definitely loving these guys after I passed them over many times. I love Kind Ryed, and was able to grab a case on clearance at my local shop for $20. I'm grabbing some Backseat Burner tonight to try out.

I don't know if I've ever even had Otter Creek. Maybe a sample at a beerfest, but I've never purchased any. They've been on my radar for the past year or so, but I've never seen the stuff I want to try (Kind Ryed, Backseat Berner) locally.

Backseat Berner and Over Easy are two of the best beers to come from Otter Creek in many years. I'm glad they are easy to find fresh here in NH. My only wish is to see at least Over Easy in cans.

The Cheech and Chong Vermont hippie hoppy lineup of beers rule (or more commonly known as the Brewmaster Mike series)! The 12 pack sampler (Citra Mantra, Backseat Berner, Fresh Slice and Over Easy may be the best sampler 12 pack of the year by any brewer IMO.

Their new beers are really good but I think that it would be a mistake to discount their old classics. I thought that their Copper Ale and Stovepipe Porter were among the best of their styles.

I've been drinking Otter Creek since their earliest days and have been a frequent visitor to the brewery for over 20 years, as it's fairly close to my parents' Adirondack home. Really enjoying Mike's new additions to the line-up but also retain some fondness for the now-retired Stovepipe as well as the RIS and Copper. Wolaver's Alta Gracia remains a very nice coffee beer too. Nice to see these guys have a resurgence and increased relevance.

the private equity money helps for sure, along with some top notch (HEAVY) marketing and fantastic graphics.

The beer is great absolutely. Just goes to show that the brand was failing a little, and is now super relevant for the reasons listed above.

Agreed! It's kind of funny and sad what you have to do to get noticed these days; I guess you can't have a 'great' brewery without paying homage at the altar of hops.
