I heard the same thing as tclipse from DC Brau....they don't distribute in cans and it is only available at the brewery. They also said to keep an eye on FB and Twitter if this changes. Haven't seen any updates on either suggesting they began distributing to MD. Wonder if this was a 1 off thing like NJ? Also didn't see them when I was in there Friday, but I also wasn't looking for it so I may have overlooked.

Well it would be hard to miss. It was sitting on the floor directly in front of the Flying Dog cooler. Probably just went fast.

Every OTWOA post saying "my state won't get many of this" is kinda funny to me, considering in the direct DC Metro area there is only one consistent place to even find it - the brewery itself.

It's good. But not 96 good IMO. I'll take Resin any day over this and I can find that anywhere.

Well if you are going to go on "what you can find anywhere", why do Heady Topper and Hill Farmstead get talked about at all?

96 is not good enough? Tough crowd.

Seems like you're the tough crowd. Is it not possible for someone to disagree with the ratings? I thought it was pretty good. Not great. But good.

As the only local beer(to me) anyone seems to want to trade for ever, I'll defend it

Maybe they did and they're holding it for their Black Friday 2014 event

Don't know about distribution in Jersey, but in MD this stuff was not abundantly supplied to shops in the form of cans. The shop/bar I work at was only able to get a single case of OTWOA the same week DC Brau picked up their distribution throughout the state, and strangely it sat for almost a week before anyone touched it. We haven't gotten in anymore since then and have no clue if we'll be getting another shipment in the near future.

I'm not sure why they don't at least send it into regional distro--each batch of cans usually lasts about a month at the brewery, which isn't the best from a freshness standpoint.

If i'm buying a hoppy beer straight from the brewery, I don't want it to be 30+ days old

Hill Farmstead and Heady are worth the trouble of trading or trekking to Vermont. This beer IMO, is not. The moment this beer goes national and is a shelf beer is the moment the rating would drop probably 5 points. Like I said, I didn't think it was a 96. I believe I gave it a 4/5.

Resin is good, but it's always around, finding it on tap ain't hard either, since this is brewed once a quarter or less, and it's a better imperial IMO, I'd take this all day...the only complaint about it is the shelf life ain't long, drink it within 30 days, had a few cans at 60 and 90 days, still good, just off, talking OTWOA...to each their own...OTWOA trades very well down south and up north...

Yeah the fact it trades well doesn't do much for my taste buds.

It's made it, in cans, to a couple of places in VA. Total Wine, Norm's, Arrowine, all of them have had six packs at some point in the past couple of months.

I think there are two "styles" of DIPAs within the american style - the ones that focus more on being piney - Resin - and ones that focus more on being fruit forward. So comparing Resin and OTWOA doesn't make sense to me. If anything compare Hi-RES to OTWOA. Even Sixpoint makes a "version" of each DIPA style.

To each their own...I enjoy both beers!

I didn't really like Hi-Res that much at all, bought a 4 pack, drank one, then traded the others away, really though it was boozy and just kind of an odd beer to me, most of my friends loved it, I also had it on tap and same result...no Sixpoints in NC helped get me NoDa Hop Drop n Roll as well as Foothills Jade...both of those are so damn good!
