Just got my hands on 5 bottles : Horal's oude geuze mega blend 75 cl: 3 Fonteinen, Boon, Timmermans, oud Beersel, Lindemans, de troch, De Cam , Hanssens en Tilquin. Numbered bottles. Bottled at 29 october 2012 .... damn cann't wait to open one.
It was decent fresh at the Tour De Gueuze last year. I have been able to get a bottle of the 09, 11, and 13 that I have aging for a random tasting one day.
Am aging an '11 (read: keep forgetting I have it hidden away down in the cellar) so reports of evolution over time very welcome.
Yeah i reaaly wonder if i have to let it closed until new year 2015 like on the bottle is written .... open it or not thats the question Like Always on the net its €12 and i bought it for €9 ...
Sorry to interject, but do you locals know how many bottles of this are usually produced every 2 years?
Horal says 16,000 bottles of the '09, 17K of the 2011, and no number given for 2013: http://www.horal.be/toer-de-geuze... but we obviously have a bargain compared to the auction price for the first bottle in each series (ha ha). BTW that's still a pretty small bottle run, but of course the point is whether or not you like it, not rarity.
