I just received a bottle of Herfst that leaked in transit. Is the seal irrevocably compromised, or is it still possible to save it for a while?

I've never had this happen, so any advice is appreciated.

I never had it happen, but a lot of people I read say to drink it sooner than later, most say drink it immediately.

Better safe than sorry. I'd drink it now if it was mine.

I had several bottles of Cantillon and 3F leak on me when I shipped them from Belgium. I didn't know how long they had been like that but I attempted to drink all 4. 3 of 4 tasted like vinegar and were flat. 1 was decent enough to consume.

That's a ~5% ABV beer. It's not going to do well sitting outside in negative temperatures.

EDIT: Also considering you received it today, it was most likely sitting on a truck outside over the weekend. In the winter, you really need to time your shipments to avoid boxes sitting out in the cold.

It was supposed to be delivered on Saturday, but they inexplicably said it was undeliverable as addressed. That tracking update didn't get posted until it was too late to do anything about. I picked it up this morning, and didn't see anything that should have prevented it from being delivered.

Oh well. Thanks for the input, folks. Looks like I'll be enjoying a (hopefully) tasty beer this evening.

Bummer man. Sorry to hear about that. But on the bright side, enjoy a fantastic beer!
