I've never seen it enforced, but in Mass the cap is somewhere around 15%. It isn't a ban, anything over that is supposed to be taxed and sold as hard alcohol.

ed - 12% ABW in Mass, so pretty much 15% ABV
    https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXX/Chapter138/Section1
''Malt beverages'', all alcoholic beverages manufactured or produced by the process of brewing or fermentation of malt, with or without cereal grains or fermentable sugars, or of hops, and containing not more than twelve per cent of alcohol by weight.

You'd have a hard time finding this enforced, but stores/bars/restaurants with only a Beer&Wine license shouldn't be selling beer over 15% ABV, Only stores with an all-alcohol license should be.

Mass also has the no "importing" from other states others have mentioned. Hasn't been enforced since this happened http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB125236461011390855

Indiana. No cold beer from a convenience store, but you can buy cold wine or cider.

Hope Lager! (Which I guess was actually contract brewed in PA)

Can't think of anything to complain about in Florida, especially now that 64oz growlers are legal.

Are you sure about this one? I live further than 10 miles from the border and all the liquor stores are open near me on Sunday.

Doesn't Oregon also have some weird rules? Someone at Rogue told me that they had to sell their products and buy them back in order to serve them to the public. Maybe that was at the distillery, though. My memory on this is hazy for some reason!

I don't remember if it's Massachusetts, but I'm familiar with this law from somewhere. Anyhow, it's ingrained in me that I must chug whatever I have left when I see the server coming!

But this is one law that I have no problems complying with!

So one interesting law. Up until I think 3 years ago there were counties in Colorado that did not have an open container law. So you could in theory drive around and drink a beer, as long as you were not intoxicated. Of course, with the absurdly low limit of 0.04% for DWAI this seemed like a terrible idea to me.

And try saying "no officer, I wasn't drinking" when you have an open container in your hand!
